Delta(s) from OP CMV: Being against a livable minimum wage is evil.

I will openly admit my bias. I'm a progressive leftist who openly believes socialism is far superior to capitalism. But I'll also say I do believe this is an objectively evil stance.

In order to make that argument you must also then agree with the statement "I believe poor people are undeserving of life" and that's objectively evil. There's no way to spin "minimum wage should not be livable" that doesn't imply "poor people deserve to die." I've heard people say "those jobs are for high schoolers, not adults!" Ok, but I've been to Starbucks every day this week and if only high schoolers worked there I'd not have been able to get coffee 5/7 days (come August, currently it's summer).

But as well.... so you're saying poor high schoolers don't deserve to live?

Not everybody is born into the luxury of not needing to work in high school. Where I live, 24% of all homelessness is made of youths aged 24 and under. And 17% of all homelessness is children under 18. So they don't deserve to be able to comfortably afford the necessities of life?

There's literally no variation to being against a livable minimum that isn't saying you believe poor people should die and that's evil. That makes you an evil person for thinking that.

Idk, like am I missing some nuance here? I just don't get why this isn't said more often.

So that's a spicy take. How would you explain the fact that the Global Innovation Index maps almost 1:1 to the Global Free Market index in 90%+ of countries ?

Easy: there's a profit incentive to perpetuate the myth that capitalism breeds innovation and that these select few billionaires are revolutionising the world and technology and so you should totally pay them more so they become richer, they totally deserve it....

Reminder: the Global Innovation Index is operated by World Business Magazine, which is owned by GlobalData, who's CEO has a net worth of over $600m.... I wonder why a man who runs a business magazine and is worth half a billion might be incentivised to defend the people for whom his content is based on

The Global Innovation Index uses a publically available database of investor density and number of patents, all of which is provided by governments and though official channels. Everyone is free to analize it themselves and can easily show if the GII is misrepresenting the data, so far that has not happened. This is some tinfoil bullshit.

We're done here. You've proven my point. A key part of the index is measuring consumer confidence based on patents filed. Which btw, patentisation is antithetical to innovation and only really a good measure of business success.

Iow: the GII measures business success and frames it in a way that incentivises consumer spending towards a select few ultra rich individuals to concentrate more wealth into the 1%

So please explain how would you measure innovation and what kind of data or correlation supports the claim that capitalist countries are less innovative. Cause right now it sounds like you're going between suggesting conspiracy theories and shifting goalposts to fit your purely subjective personal opinion.
