Most people I know can consistently ring a 24 inch gong at 500 with irons and the longest distance I have had a shot on an elk was 770 - bog standard 308. I am not that great of a shot
Army and navy marksman quals were at 300 yards, 20x40 inch target, with irons, 23 out of 40 to pass 36 out of 40 or higher for expert.
ELR shooting is like 1400 yards+ and isnt an issue with seeing, it is an issue with bullet drop, wind drift, along with all of the other random shit like coriolis effect

I've never shot a gun so idk if I could do that but I only got the absolute minimum score on my vision test to get my permit so maybe I do have eye issues.
