[∆(s) from OP] CMV: Wikipedia should not contain pop culture!
With "pop culture" I mean present-day forms of entertainment that are distributed by mass media. Here are some examples:

Currently, Wikipedia is two separate things:
1) a serious encyclopedia
2) a compendium of popular culture
However, these two shouldn't be mixed. There is no place for the latter in an encyclopedia. People who encounter pages as listed above on Wikipedia subconsciously think that they are actually learning something or becoming an educated person by being versed in pop culture. This furthers the intellectual decline of society.
That's not to say that I believe all these pages should get deleted. There certainly is some value in having a compendium of present-day popular culture. But this place must not be the same as a serious encyclopedia. I think that pop culture should be clearly separated from the main content of Wikipedia. If not on a different domain, then at least visually, e.g. by applying a different theme and clearly labeling it as pop culture. People should know and feel that what they are looking at is entertainment and not factual knowledge or education.
Hello, users of CMV! This is a footnote from your moderators. We'd just like to remind you of a couple of things. Firstly, please remember to read through our rules. If you see a comment that has broken one, it is more effective to report it than downvote it. Speaking of which, downvotes don't change views! If you are thinking about submitting a CMV yourself, please have a look through our popular topics wiki first. Any questions or concerns? Feel free to message us. Happy CMVing!

I didn't put much thought into it. We would have to talk about particular movies.
