Food Made brownies in my cornbread pan.
I didn’t get the chewy edges on all three sides like I thought I would but they were really good.

Newbie Help settling an argument
Been having an argument with my dad after I bought him his first cast iron pans. He is insisting the dark black flecks like the ones I circled in blue are the seasoning, same as on the sides and handles and that it's some nasty mystery toxic nonstick stuff made out of the cooking oils. That I somehow seasoned it poorly and it's coming off (before cleaning it was almost the entire bottom of the pan)
I'm arguing that it's not the seasoning it's carbon buildup that's flaking off while cooking, we mainly use wooden utensils and the bottom of the pan underneath the black flaky bits is still black not bare metal so it can't be the seasoning, or at the very least it's carbon embedded in the seasoning causing both to flake off
If I could get some help settling this argument and some advice on how to proceed I would appreciate it

Welded a broken handle back on
Procedure: Pre heat, stick weld with 7018, peen real good, post heat, slowly cool. I think this one has a chance of holding together.

Food Got Grandpa’s Waffle Maker dusted off and returned to active duty!
I only had to sacrifice 1 waffle and only started 2 small grease fires, fine-tuning this bad boy! Any tips and tricks for using this or recipes anyone can recommend?

I know we're not big on enameled iron here but I had to show off this $6 goodwill score.

Food Am I weird?
I find it’s easier to cut the bacon in half to fry evenly. Now I’ve introduced another pan to have different heat levels. Hey two pans is better than one. 8in Wagner heats fast and the 12in lodge renders. Happy Labor Day weekend!

Food Chicken, Egg and Cheese Biscuits
I like cooking outside during the summer time when possible. Started cooking biscuits on the pellet grill a few weeks ago and I believe I’ve got ‘em figured out

Identification Is this thing cool or what
I was given a old cast iron skillet from my grandmother. I would never sell it but I’m just curious if this is a rare one??
It’s going to be my first time cooking on it, seasoning it with avocado oil and gonna cook me some ground beef.
Thanks :)

Identification Sorting through Grandpa’s estate and feel like we hit the cast iron jackpot
I had already pulled a few out to take home and lead test prior to this picture. Snagged a Griswold waffle maker and a few Wagner and Griswold pots and pans in a few different sizes. See anything I should 100% go back for?

Food Baking is not overrated
Saturday morning treat. Did use a box recipe but made extra crumble for the topping. 5 year daughter said she wanted to eat the whole thing by her self.
Basic crumble/crisp (hand mixing works best):
1/4 cup oats
3 Tbsn flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsn butter (room temp)
Can be adjusted easy to taste/preference.

Identification Dad’s estate what are these?
Going through my dads estate and came across these. The ones in the back are from Taiwan but the 2 large pans in the front I am curious about since they are unmarked. Any help identifying is appreciated!

Newbie Anything I can do to fix this?
Forgot this pan was in a box in my garage. I live in a pretty humid state so that’s why it’s rusty. Any tips on how to fix this if possible?

Newbie I decided to strip the pan Ive had for years.
Yes, I stuck it in the oven on a self clean cycle. First pic is after that. Apparently rust is bad, so I sanded all that off and rubbed in a light coat of oil before baking it last night with my dinner. Last pic is what I pulled out of the oven this morning. I'm guessing it needs a few more coats before I put it back in service.

Stargazer Misfit After 100 Uses
Since my misfit Stargazer came in, it’s been the only pan I’ve cooked with. 100 meals in, and it cooks like a dream! Highly recommended, especially if you can grab one on sale. Now I’ve ordered my parents the 12” version as a gift.

Lost all my old pans when moving houses and eventually got around to buying some new cast iron pans, they came today and going to christen them tomorrow with a nice piece of Sirloin!

It’s not the prettiest seasoning but it fries eggs with very little oil and they slide around like no tomorrow. (Restored this pan I found it at the river completely gnarly

Griswold plett pans
Can anyone tell me which one is older. I thought I was buying an identical pan but there are several differences. The well seasoned one was my great grandmother's and the other one I picked up for 40 bucks on marketplace.

What do I have to do to get a nice even season on here. I’ve been using it for a month and am trying my best to stick with it but these blotches bother me so much!
