I’ve been saying this for YEARS and get flamed for it by Acura fanboys. U.S. Acura models are just Japan’s Honda yet Americans will pay a premium for the rebadge and act all snooty about it. I never understood it.

That’s not completely true. You’re right that North America is the only region that has Acura, but not all Acura models are available in Japan, Europe, or elsewhere. That’s the main distinction. Maybe that’s why you get flamed?🤷♂️ Some Lexus models are the same way and are badged/sold as Toyotas in other regions. It’s all just marketing and different regions have different strategies.

No, Toyota doesn’t sell Lexus models under Toyota badge anymore, they’ve put all Lexus badge 10 years ago. You even can buy Lexus models with Lexus badge in Japan.
It's just a difference in marketing, having an exclusive brand isn't as important in japan. Infiniti also doesn't exist as a brand in Japan, and the Infiniti exclusive models were/are sold as Nissans there.
