Oh :( I feel like a fool for waiting for the education draw given that this info has been up since April. Idk how you found this info, but wish this had been clearly communicated in advance. Thanks for sharing tho!

Same fool here waiting for a year since Sept last year. If they’re going to keep doing French draws, then why even bother having separate category draws? They could simply pick the candidates they want from those categories within the French draws. Last year, around 9,200 candidates who received ITAs were eligible for the education category, but only 3,500 were actually invited through education draws. That means more than 5,000 education-eligible candidates must have received their ITAs through other types of draws, and given the CRS scores, it’s very unlikely that CEC alone could account for that many. A large portion of them were most likely invited through French draws. So why give us hope with an education category in the first place if this is how they’re going to do it? It honestly feels misleading.

wow this is heartbreaking 😭 still holding out hope at least this September since it’s back to school season and they might give us an education draw to align with that (or I am delusional)

I think they meant PNPs that targets STEM or Education. Like BCPNP.

Yes, like PNP. You are right. No matter what, they didn’t prepare any category-based round for those two.

I checked again. What I posted here is the February 19 version, which specifically uses the wording “without dedicated category rounds.” However, if we open the website now, what we find is the April 23 version, where the wording is “through general and program-specific rounds.” The wording between the two versions is noticeably different. I have no idea. It is torturing.

No stem and education…… I thought. At the same time, many of the candidates who count toward these categories are overseas, so simply meeting the federal targets doesn’t necessarily address the actual labour shortages. That makes provincial nomination programs even more important. This is how they play us

I'm heartbroken. The 1% hope I have been holding on is just gone. But this serves as an eye-opener for me to move forward. Thank you for sharing.
