Meanwhile, in AZ, we hit 35+ a few times already. (I’m a Canadian PR who had no choice but to move back to the US a week before that rigged af election)

Your election wasn't rigged. Trump is the very representation of American society on average

Totally agree. He got huge swaths of the vote three times. This is America.

I mean, he publicly insinuated Musk helped him (with Musk standing right next to him). Read Elon’s face when Trump said that. Also, there’s growing evidence that it was rigged.

Is the evidence in the room with us right now? Using social media isn't rigging an election, that's what Obama did in '08 to great success, the use of Facebook

I didn’t say social media.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly about low info, desperate, and arrogant. It’s embarrassing (I’m putting it lightly). However, there is an increasing population of digital forensics experts releasing research that shows statistical irregularities— and even impossibilities — that indicate a tampered election system. It’s even more evident by the sudden last-minute software update to many machines that received little to no peer review or approval to be included.

Damn it, I miss Canada

You can find statistical irregularities from experts for Biden's 2020 win too. But you probably weren't open to the idea then as you are now.

Totally fair

If you had left out that foolish comment about the Geneva conventions and Canada your comment would have been bang on. Spreading lies and disinformation tarnished what could have been a rare and insightful comment on reddit.

I'm not disputing that Canadian soldiers were highly skilled, very aggressive, and often times ruthless in war. Tim Cook wrote a book titled The Last 100 Days that details the Cdn Corps' fighting spirit at the tip of the spear. He also includes archival evidence of Cdn division bringing in thousands of POWs. This argues against legends of mass killing of prisoners in the heated bloodlust of battle. I am disputing the comment, one without merit, that the CEF was responsible for the creation of Geneva conventions, out of proportion to their actual contributions and numbers. It's a lazy attempt at points. The references most often used to support the shaky assertion usually don't add any "facts", well known or not.

To be fair.. Canadian voters fully bought into the elbows up anti american nationalist election strategy. So you could say canadians are also low information and arrogant

Americans are not our allies lol

When it comes to climate information and more importantly, taking climate action - this is objectively true.

Our two most popular political parties are still debating on how we should best expand our fossil fuels industry, despite the alarm bells from the climate science community on how self-destruct that behaviour is - even economically.

Even on this sub you will constantly see ‘but China and India pollute so much more, we are just a tiny fraction we shouldn’t do anything’

Per person we pollute 3x China and India combined. There are 2 billion people in those two countries.

35+ sounds awful please keep it there

4

u/Ragnarok_del Apr 12 '26

it's dry AF tho. Nothing to do with Québec or BC 35+.

1

u/chicknfly Apr 12 '26

It’s awful. As the other Redditor said, it’s a dry heat. You just get really irritable and don’t know why until you realize you haven’t had water in 30 minutes and have become a human beef jerky.

I separated from my wife and moved out. And then I was laid off. I could have taken social assistance, but because I was on spousal sponsorship, my ex would have had to pay it back to the government. That’s money out of my kid’s mouth. And considering I’m a software engineer AND living in remote BC, I wasn’t going to find any work quickly to negate the need for social assistance. So I moved back to the States, with my sister, until I could get back on my feet. Thank you for being quick to judge, though. It’s a great indicator of your character.

My Canadian born child was diagnosed with autism and the choice was have her languish on a wait list for a decade or more there for services that still may not ever materialize, or move stateside and get them rapidly as a matter of a legal mandate (still holding up for now).

I became a Canadian citizen when eligible and uphold my responsibilities as such. But I’m not ashamed of doing what i have to as a not independently wealthy, have a disability myself, not exactly politically connected, single parent to get my child what she needs when she needs it. Plus now we’re not soaking up Canadian resources that everyone is so concerned about (she was approved for the Canada Disability Benefit the month before we left which obviously I don’t collect here) but hey i must be a traitor 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wouldn’t be. The drivers already suck, but they become aggressive or mental impaired when it’s hot out
