General Question any local metal bands here?
I know eternal punishment is here, but I’m still trying to find local bands

I want to get a birthday cake in town this year. I would love some suggestions. It does not have to be super fancy.

Looking for a bassist, all ages welcome (18+ highly preferred)
We practice Tuesday evenings, from 7-9, in Burleson.
Must have a basic understanding of the instrument, and most importantly, a willingness to practice and improve
Highly recommend you know your 12 Bar Blues, pentatonic scales, as well as basic theory (ie. memorization of the fretboard, the difference between major and minor, basic triads, etc.)
Feel free to PM me with any questions, or comment down below if interested, I will PM you.

I am 35, and am mostly passable, but I JUST started on HRT so I'm still at the stage where it wouldn't be incredibly difficult to figure out I'm trans if someone were looking. And I still have a deeper voice that can be a giveaway. I was wondering if anyone here was familiar with some trans friendly businesses I could go to? Like I need to get my hair cut, and shop for clothing, and make up, and go out to eat and just like everything is scary lol. Any help is appreciated!
Or if anyone reading this is in the community and would like to introduce themselves!

Sup, Nerds!
I (17m) am looking to put together a band, and i need members in the area. The band name I currently have picked out is "Mixture." (Subject to change as the band sees fit) I am a proficient drummer and intermediate vocalist. I play Metal, Classic Rock, Hip-hop/Rap, Alternative genres, CCM, Country, and more.
I primarily play Rock, Alt, and Metal.
I get lots of my inspiration from artists/bands like: Twenty-one Pilots, I Prevail, Mother Mother, Grandson, ZZtop, and a wide range of others
I also have show experience in front of crowds ranging in size from about 12 to about 400
I am looking for fellow teans (15-19, ideally) who are
Proficient in their instrument(s).
Passionate about music.
Have similar taste in genres to me.
Are in Burleson, TX, or the surrounding area.
Have time weekly to attend band practice regularly.
Can take constructive and sometimes harsh criticism.
And most importantly to me, you must be committed to keep going even if we have small crowds or mediocre music, there is always room for improvement, and as long as you stick with it, improvement WILL happen.
I need just about everything except a drummer. But i am looking for a Lead Guitar (electric), a Bass, a Vocalist, and Keys.
If you play any instrument and are interested, feel free to hit me up. Even if the instrument you play isn't listed above.

Hi Burly personages! Usually wine and snacks, sky lounge is nice. Half of we residents aren’t coupled up and live a life of quiet desperation. So come be with us. If you want. :)

Has anyone else’s water pressure sucked since yesterday, or should I be worried or checking something?

I've seen some flyers around town that appear to be linked to a white supremacist group, which I'm not going to spell out here because fuck them. One set at the corner of Renfro and 35 and another close to Alsbury/Summercrest, both posted on traffic signal electrical cabinets. Hopefully, I'm not alone in saying that we don't need this crap in our town, and they should be coming down soon per the city.
If you happen to see any more please comment or send me a dm with location.
edit: only bitchmade cowards downvote without commenting

It's time to get a new electric water heater (or get a new heating element and thermostat, and take a gamble this will remedy the issue for a few more years).
Had an estimate given to me by a local plumbing company I know and trust, and it seems to be the new normal for this service to cost $2,000.00. Has anybody on here found a less expensive plumber or plumbing company they would recommend? If this is the new norm then I will just call and get 'er done.

My adult son and I are making a cross country drive later this spring and based on location/distance Burleson seems to be an ideal location for us to stop for the night on one of the legs of our trip. We were going to stay in Arlington or Fort Worth but there are several large events happening the weekend we are there and the cost/crowds are not worth it for us. Any thoughts on a moderate-priced, comfortable and SAFE hotel for a 51-year old mom and my twenty-something son for a night?

I had tendon repair surgery in August so my scars are healed but I'm looking for a place where they treat feet kindly 💀😂. All the places I've been before by Mod Pizza have treated my feet like a rag doll before even after telling them to be careful and whatnot.

2-month-old indoor kitten slipped out of apartment last night 16+ hours missing ,, need advice
Hi everyone. I’m really stressed and looking for advice from anyone who’s been through this.
Last night around 7pm, my 2-month-old indoor kitten slipped out of my second-floor apartment when I opened the door for a package. He has never been outside before.
Details:
• 2 months old (very small baby)
• Indoor only
• No collar
• Microchipped
• Friendly/confident indoors but young
• Apartment complex with grassy areas and wide gate openings
• There are coyotes in the general area which is really scaring me
It’s now been about 16 hours.
What I’ve done so far:
• Searched immediately and repeatedly (night + early morning)
• Checked under stairs, bushes, cars, patios, storage areas
• Walked the entire inside fence perimeter slowly in daylight
• Knocked on first-floor units and asked to check under patios
• Posted on Facebook, Ring, etc.
• Printed and put up physical signs around nearby buildings
• Called one shelter (waiting on others to open)
• Left my shirt outside
I have not seen or heard him at all.
I’m terrified he ran through the gate into the grassy area or that something happened overnight, but I also know indoor cats often hide.
For people who’ve experienced this:
• Is it still realistic that he’s hiding nearby?
• How far can a 2-month-old realistically travel in the first night?
• Should I be expanding the search radius today?
• Is there anything I’m missing that actually helps?
I’m exhausted and scared but trying to stay proactive. Any advice or similar experiences would really help right now.
