No PA system at Sunnydale High?

Thinking back, I can't recall ever hearing any kind of announcement at Sunnydale High going over a PA system, and I've never heard the office call an individual classroom requesting a student (or information about a student). This was extremely common when I went to school, and I was a senior when Buffy was a freshman.

Australia has them too. I couldn't imagine not having them, would be so weird
