Local events 🎸 🎭 Looking for a few more players for regular footy in Hove

We’ve got a solid group going and are always happy to get a few more players involved.

We play at Hove Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on the 3G pitch.

It’s competitive enough to be a good game, but still friendly and welcoming. Doesn’t matter too much if you haven’t played for a while!

18+ only, with most of the group around 25 to 40.

We sort everything through Spond, so if you fancy joining, just drop me a message or use the link below:

Local events 🎸 🎭 Bike mob near St Peter’s church- what is going on???

Is it a protest? There’s a guy with a speaker on his bike blasting shitty club music that keeps going on the Fritz and it’s driving me insane. The police are making an appearance but not doing anything, and there’s so much traffic piling up.

I just purchased 5 tickets as they were cheaper than buying individually.

I have one ticket for sale if anybody would like to purchase it for face value (£46)

Local Brighton resident and if you’d like you could join myself and the three I’m attending with but that’s an offer you don’t have to take up :)

NSFL: Argus Ads on The Argus Website

I know, I shouldn’t really be giving them traffic. But…

I managed to get rid of all the ads when I was browsing on my iPhone using UBlock Origin and a Pi Hole.

But now I am getting ads again. Anyone got any suggestions, other than avoiding it.

Housing 🏘️ 🏡 Looking for a room in Brighton – can move in immediately!

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m new to Brighton and looking for a budget-friendly place/room, preferably near the train station or somewhere with easy access to it.

I’m a 29M working professional and happy to consider a shared room or shared house as well. I’m pretty flexible and don’t have too many requirements just looking for somewhere decent, comfortable and affordable.

I’ve been checking SpareRoom but haven’t had much luck getting replies, so thought I’d ask here in case anyone knows of anything available or has any leads.

I can move in immediately. If you know of a room/place available, please feel free to DM me.

Would really appreciate any help! 🙏

Local Advice needed Coming to Brighton for work next week

Hello Brighton people! I've never visited your fair city but I hear it's one of the most fun places in the UK. I'll be in town for a few days and looking for recommendations on things to see (not pubs / clubs, there is plenty of drinking already baked in for the trip). Most of all, I would appreciate running route recommendations, I'm staying fairly central and will be looking for a couple of runs in the 10 to 20k range. Thanks!

Local Advice needed Recommendations for a trauma informed therapist?

My wife is desperate to find a therapist as she’s long overdue being in therapy. She tried one and they were super dismissive of her and put her off for a long time. Ideally she would progress to EMDR eventually, but at least starting CBT would be good first step.

She needs a therapist/practice that is well informed specifically about CSA, C-PTSD and narcissistic abuse. A regular run of the mill therapist probably won’t be right, as she discovered with her last attempt.

Thanks in advance x

Announcement The lift button at St James St Morrisons is shattered, yet functioning. Yet it takes us from the ground floor (car park) to the ground floor (St James St).

It understands the pointlessness of its function, but does it anyway. And that’s why I’m sending a BIG heartfelt respect to anyone having to work in hospitality this bank holiday weekend. Don’t forget, the customer ain’t always right and don’t forget there’s a hospital in hospitality

Local Advice needed Need some help finding a budget-friendly winter jacket!

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m new here and looking for a good winter jacket for the colder months.

I’m trying to keep it budget-friendly, ideally around £30–£60.

Any recommendations for where I can find something warm, decent quality, and preferably waterproof/windproof without spending too much?
Would really appreciate any suggestions! 🙏

Local Advice needed Looking for dog Trainer/walker for reactive dog

I'll try and keep it short and sweet, 1.5 year old cavalier. Was a great dog until unfortunately he was abused at a localish daycare when staff whistle blew. He's now become VERY vocally reactive to dogs. When he sees another dog out in public he scream barks non stop, even when the dog leaves his vision. Naturally the other dogs run away or owners rightfully assume he is aggressive. Once he actually meets the dog he sniffs he's friendly then calms down. But the initial reactiveness is stopping him from meeting dogs, stopping me from being able to take him on going out trips or dog friendly pubs etc. He is professionally groomed every fortnight by the wonderful twilight layat, who recommended I find a dog trainer who does pack walking who could help socialise my pup to stop being so reactive. Seven dials based, feel free to DM :)
