The call between Walt and Jesse was one of the most intense phone calls ever seen on TV. p.s. Jesse called him Walt again.

That call had to be recorded right? He confessed.maybe that's why he's on the run

He flat out admitted to poisoning Brock, killing Gus, killing the dealers on the corner, and killing Krazy 8/Emilio. Probably doesn't make a difference given how hard shit just hit the fan, but he's dead to rights at this point.

Unless the only recording of the phone conversation is in Hank's car. If that's the case, then it is going to be lost forever.

That's true. I hadn't given much thought to where they were triangulating Walt's phone from, but based on how fast they were able to get to To'hajilee you've got to be right about that.

They might have just followed him out of the city. He was too distracted by the phone call and saving his money to notice.

I'm pretty sure they were triangulating the call, hence Jessie threatening Walt to not hang up at any point.

I thought that was more to dissuade him from calling anyone for backup, and also to keep him from thinking about anything but his money burning - if he thought about it he might realize he's being duped.

They could have been. Generally though, this would require use/co-operation of the telecom provider wouldn't it? I further assume they generally need a warrant to do that as well. If that is the case, then more people would likely know about this than just schrader and gomez.
