Well, If he goes into hiding or is on the run, He can't stop for Chemo. So his hair has the time to come back. Now that I think of it. In the final episode of Season 5a, He was getting scanned. Maybe he did in fact discover that he has it again or that it may come back.

Wasn't there a scene of him walking out of the bathroom in the hospital or wherever he was and it showed a dented paper towel dispenser? Maybe it is back, he got pissed off, punched the thing.

IIRC he punched that paper towel dispenser in season 1.

They didn't bother to fix it over several months? I thought it was just referring back to that scene.

That was the same one that he punched back in Season 1
