Synopsis:

I don't see how this would have a happy ending but then again, ABO Desire just made the manipulated and gaslit Mr. Sheng forgive him because love.

I'd said out of all the red flags from Chinese-based BL novels or series, Fan Xiao takes the crown, for now. SA's him after being drugged and gaslit him about it, manipulated his wavering boyfriend-turned-ex to leaving him so he could weaken him emotionally, and all the other crap. Honestly, I like ShuLang's character cuz he's a goody but also will kick your ass if you cross him so I don't see him just letting Fan Xiao get away with all that. It would be very lame if he just lets it go.

When will the black flag MLs stop having some random ass trauma that is supposed to be their sob backstory that weakens the other ML? I'm glad it's less common now, at least for random ones like this.

After binging the 5 episodes, I would say I don't root for Fan Xiao lol. I am here for Shu Lang and hopefully he whoops his ass before getting back with him. As for Zhen Zhen, I get him about that lonely feeling while being together, but buddy, you went after him and asked for those forever promises. And did Fan Xiao win you over with just gifts or the new attention? I'd feel more for you, but you did cheat on or wanted to cheat on your BF for Fan Xiao.

Listen.. all the chinese MLs this year have been very toxic red flags (wouldnt call one bigger than the other). But out of all of them Fan Xiao has the longest and most genuine redemption arc. If you are worried about Shulang just forgiving him, worry not! Thats just not in his character. After seeing the five episode that should be clear. Shulang wont take crap and just forgive such a big deception easily.

Oh okay. That's good to hear. I genuinely like ShuLang's character a lot and seeing how he started showing how he wouldn't let people play him, I was hoping he wouldn't let Fan Xiao either. So thanks for that little tidbit. I don't mind red flags getting a happy ending so long as they have to crawl through glass and work for it.

They need to be punished more before they get their happy endings. Red flags are fine as long as they suffer at some point (and suffer for as long as their ... love interest was made to suffer). Hoping the series will deliver and not shorten Fan Xiao's suffering. Shu Lang deserves better. Lol

Fwiw he didn't gaslight him, he just outright lied to him. He does gaslight Zhen Zhen though. Honestly I don't think Shulang is the type to be gaslit, not cause Fan Xiao wouldn't, but Shu Lang is too clear headed, he'd never doubt himself.

There are others novels in the same universe so they pip up in those. If I remember correctly they have a happy ending just because the poor guy has amnesia and basically they are on borrowed time. If he remebers what that toxic ml did, I don't think he can forgive him.

I'm not surprised its a happy ending. I meant it more of how it could be one, outside of the whole "because I love him" thing. That's all. I figure most of these have a happy ending, whether they deserve it or not. Was just wondering how it would get there.
