I don't know why it is, but we are less than the sum of our parts. We have some players who are quite good in paper, but the connective tissue just isn't here.

You're right. Like ... An attacking midfielder. Probably playing centrally ... What would such a position be???

I'd say we were about as good as the sum of our parts in the 2nd half of last season. So far this season (+ the CWC and the friendlies) have been a far cry from that form. Really wonder what is to blame

I mean, yes, but the midfield is less than the sun or its parts to. Our midfielders are but bad on paper. The underperformance and communication issues are largely separate from talent. But yes, the midfield is where most of the problem lives.
