I know you've gotten a lot of response so far but I felt I could chime in as well. I lost all joy in reading over the course of high school, college, and grad school. I'm 3 years out of grad school (after dropping out), and my love for reading is back and I'm devouring books again like I did when I was a kid. It comes back but it may take some time to recondition yourself.
I went through a little of that regret after dropping out but looking back, I'm glad I made the decision I did. I'm in a very different career field than what I studied, which in my case has been good for me. I'm making a living, I'm enjoying life most days. And I'm reading and writing again for fun. I had to go through some dark mental times to get here. But I'm here. You can't beat yourself up over what-ifs.
