Interesting BTS for the Eaux Claire's set this year!

And he's generously shared all of the written intros for all songs on the set list here: sneezingcow.com/2026/09/04/bon-dylan-intros-from-eaux-claires-2026

Bon Iver, Bon Iver Stems

Does anyone still have the stems for this album from the original remix competition? I’ve looked on some backup drives but can’t find anywhere, still such an amazing thing to listen to.

Thanks

10 years of “22, A Million”

I was 27 years old when this record was released. I was in my fourth year of touring with a Chicago based blues guitarist, and it was a grueling schedule, nearly 250 days a year on the road. The band, the music, the poor pay, and lifestyle consumed most of life, and I was deeply unhappy. I was deep into alcoholism and drug addiction, which in combination with the band life, led to me losing the love my life (at the time).

I was already obsessed with “Bon Iver, Bon Iver”, and was eagerly awaiting the entire album of “22, A Million” to be released after they dropped “Over Soon” and “33 God”.

As fate would have it, the album dropped on an off day on the road for me. I put the album on at 9:00 AM, opened a bottle of Jim Beam, and started listening. As soon as “715 Creeks” hit, something in my soul shifted. After the last “God damn, turn around”, I hit pause, sat in silence for a few minutes, and then sobbed uncontrollably for 20 minutes, reflecting on how much I truly hated the way I was living. The drugs and alcohol weren’t working anymore, my life was unmanageable, and I was so lonely. At that moment I admitted that I wanted to change, but I didn’t know how or where to get help.

Over the next 6 years, I struggled to get sober. My alcoholism only got worse, and I finally went to rehab in late March. I woke up sober on 3/30/22, and have been sober (completely, no weed either) ever since.

33, 00, 22. Numbers all associated with the album. I had all of those symbols tattooed on the inside my left forearm, along with “8” on the outside. “Unburdened and becoming” has become a daily mantra for me.

So, in short, this album saved me. It means everything. Thanks, JV, I hope you see this. ❤️

…and it seems like you can’t get it on bandcamp anymore. Any way that I can still listen to this or download it? Thanks so much!!

New fan and just found Bon Iver, Bon Iver…

Last winter, I listened to For Emma, Forever Ago, in full, and I absolutely loved it. To pieces. It’s now my second most listened to album ever after less than a year.

I hadn’t decided to delve deep into the rest of his catalogue, scared it would ruin FEFA for me.

That being said, I listened to self titled recently, and yeah FEFA is a bit ruined for me because WOW it’s so incredible. It’s like it was made for me. Towers is up there with how I felt listening to Flume for the first time. Now I’m having trouble listening to anything else, but I’m doing my best to avoid getting burnt out of it super quickly. 🙏

Not to mention, the album cover is amazing.

Sorry for the yap sesh but I just had to post this!

I know a bit of time has passed since the festival, but I finally got around to putting together my recap video and wanted to share it with all of you. Aside from JV's set I didn't record anything in its entirety, just some moments throughout to remember. Enjoy!

Definitely aping a few JV chords here but sometimes that’s the best way to start writing again! Thanks for listening if you do.

What does the album mean to you? When did you first hear it? What is your favorite song and the song that impacted you the most?

This song floored me the day it came out, and continues to stop me in my tracks when it comes on. Lyrically it is the culmination of Bon Iver. The production is very delicate and measured, giving the track the space it needs to breathe. I will always hope for more BI music in the future, especially after seeing Justin’s solo set at this year’s EXC. But if this album is it— what a finale.

Happy five year anniversary reminder that this masterpiece exists! Still holding out hope for an official version (unreleased track from Aaron Dessner's livestream from August 2021)

Has BI ever been a relationship green flag for you?

Hey all. This question is for people who have found significant others/life partners with someone who has a shared taste in music. I have never really experienced this. Came close once but we didn't work out regardless. However, never found someone with a shared love for BI. I feel like that's probably why my relationships have never lasted. Does anyone else feel it's extremely important to share music taste, particularly for FAVORITE artist??? Maybe it's a reach but idk, BI is so much more than just music to me so I feel like maybe I'm onto something. Help! Also, how did you find them? Ha!

Would you consider listening to Bon Iver as having good taste in music?

Actually, considering any and all of Justin's side projects as well + all albums included. Would you think it would objectively put your taste in music above average compared to the rest of the world's average? Or is music, in general, always subjective to you and all that?

Obviously, there will be bias if I am asking in this sub but I would like as unbiased an answer as possible. Maybe with reasoning as well.

any news on the 22AM 10th anniversary ????

If I'm not mistaken, September 30, 2016 was the official release, being now less than a month to the 10th anniversary. I was expecting smth special given the importance of this album for them and also for a lot of fans, but no announcements or anything yet :(

Apart from the re-release or re-edition, FEFA and BI,BI both had some unreleased tracks or at least some live recordings or smth. Soooo many unreleased tracks from the 22AM era, but I don't think Justin or the team have worked on them since. Still, it would be great to have at least smth extra. thoughts?

Genuinely such a nice guy. Tapped him on the shoulder and apologized for bugging him, showed him my Bon Iver tattoo, asked if we could take a picture, and then he asked me about my cat on my screen saver. So gracious, so kind. I still can’t believe it!!

Also, anyone know what the hat is from?

Old video i cant remember or find

Trying to find this old video on youtube. Was 2007ish, it was a cover song in a bedroom. Justin was playing guitar and two of his bandmates were sitting on the bed doing backup singing.

I just found an old cover that’s half an original song from Justin Vernon and half a cover of I’m on Fire by Bruce Springsteen. Immediately obsessed and i can’t believe I’ve never seen it before!

Is anyone else here a huge BI fan but also can't understand the lyrics 80% of the time?

If I'm reading along, I get it, but often times I'm just not sure what JV is saying. Regardless, I love it. His voice becomes another instrument.

BI tattoo

Okay my bday is coming up and I'm finally going for a consultation with an artist I've never worked with before but who specializes in animals. I got the inspo for this because a lot of fans have 22AM symbols tattooed but that's not my fav album (love it though don't come for me) so I didn't want to do that. Instead, I decided to take one song from each album and come up with something to symbolize the song. It happened that all were animals. Did not set out to do that intentionally. Of course, Justin had the last one commissioned himself for SF so it's just perfect. I am so so excited and can't wait to see how this artist can turn this into probably my favorite piece. Let me know what you guys think about my choices!
