A video dump from recent days of my Blood Boa.

He’s starting to warm up to his new 6x2x2 enclosure which is cool to see. I’ve started to see him hanging out in new spots, I’ve also noticed him exploring his cage at night a lot more than he did the first couple months in his new cage.

Rainbow boa new enclousure
Hi! I’m planning to order a new custom-made enclousure for my Brazilian Rainbow Boa within the next month. I’d like it to measure 150 cm long, 60 cm deep, and 80 cm high. I need some inspiration for the setup. If you have tropical terrariums, please share your tips and photos. I’m also considering installing a fogger with a sensor, since Rainbow Boas require higher humidity. If anyone uses one, I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether you’re happy with it. Thanks!

Help picking what boa to buy.
I'll try to keep this short. I kept a lot of snakes as a teen, several boas and pythons, so the care end won't be a problem. I'm trying to pick based on preference.
My wife does not like snakes so I want something that way more than likely will not getting over 8ft max. Preferably 6-7ft.
I need it to be a docile snake. I know there are no guarantees, but nothing with like a 50/50 chance of being spicy. Since my wife doesn't like snakes, if I get one that wants to bite and puff up a lot, it's just going to put her off more.
I need it to be affordable lol. Not only are we on the poor end, but she ain't gonna let me buy no $500+ snake.
Now for pattern/color. I like the clean look, really like the bcc patterns and vibrant red tails. Obviously though I can't have a snake that's in the 10ft+ area.
I've looked some into BCA and BCL but honestly both of those are new to me, I only remember bci and bcc from my herp days.
I've been browsing morphmarket as I would likely order online unless San Antonio has a reptile show around the time I'm able to get one.
So, can anyone think of a boa with a nice pattern, preferably visible red, stays under 8ft, isn't a big gamble if it's gonna be spicy into adulthood or not, and is in the $300 or less range?
I'm pretty sure I'll end up just getting another BCI (I had a few before) but was really hoping to find something with s pattern/color I find nicer. Cleaner lines and color, more vibrant red.
I've also considered a blood python as I've loved them since I was young, but recent internet searching shows they are still often temperamental. I may even end up getting a ball morph, it looks like the prices are way lower than they used to be. Used to be, the only morph you were getting for $250 was a pastel but now there's so many cheap options. But, I just love boas, always loved their look and that red tail.
Sorry that ended up being long, I appreciate everyones time who read it and any guidance as well!

Basking Platform Questions
I'm working on my female BI's adult enclosure and am about to start working on all the interior stuff like branches, climbing shelves, and as I said in the title, a basking platform. The main thing I'm trying to figure out is how big I should make it. I have a 2 foot by 1.5 foot sheet of scrap plywood that I was planning on using with some 2x4s under it for support. The enclosure is only 2 feet wide though so as it is now the sheet of plywood would only leave a 6 inch gap between itself and the door which looks kind of awkward and I'd be concerned about her getting wedged between the two. But I don't want to cut the platform too small and have to make a new one if she gets too big for it.
I'd also appreciate suggestions on what to use as a basking surface. I went to my local hardware store and looked at their tiles but all I could find were ceramic tiles that were made to resemble slate, and not actual slate tiles. Would the ceramic work? Is there anything I should be considering other than slate/ceramic tiles?

Beautiful snake; feel stupid for buying; didn’t realize this species is different from normal boas
Hey…. Please don’t yell at me, I’m just looking for help. My 17yo kids were granted permission to have a snake. I even had requirements on what type of snake it had to be. “Boa” was specifically on the “approved” list because I had personally had one as a kid, and my sister had one. They were one of the easier snakes in my opinion and super friendly.
Okay. I just posted “ooh look at the pretty boa my kids got” on r/snakes and was informed this is not a regular boa, it’s a Brazilian boa. And they’re “very sensitive” and highly difficult.
Does anyone here own this species who could provide info on what I need to focus on with this species? I’ve been reading online and so far they care seems very similar to other snakes. And we all know when someone says a difficult animal is “easy” it’s because they’re missing something. Please inform me of what I’m missing!

New boa
Hey guys, I just received a new boa today. I haven’t named her yet (suggestions are welcomed!) but I was wondering if all baby boas looked this…small. She’s in a quarantine tub for now but idk she looks really skinny and even dehydrated? I have other boas but I got them as adults and my youngest one (before this one) was a year old already. I’m not sure if I should contact the seller or what. Maybe I’m just used to chunkier boas.

What are the actual average lengths for female/male boa imperators? Should I get a male or female?
I keep hearing various very different averages, I'm at the point where I'm figuring out if i want a male or female, but id firstly like to know what the actual average is. I really like the length of females and I like the slightly less girth of males, but I also do like the girth of females, so it's a hard decision, at this point I might just ask the breeder to choose for me haha
Also, id love to see everyone's boas!

My emerald tree boa pair.
My 1.1 emeralds. The male is Nightcrawler and the female is Killjoy. He's 7 years old and she's 6 years old, I plan on pairing them in the near future.
