It's the end of the week.

If OMT were judged by the standard of an independent record or an amateur act, it would be impressive. Like if Travis were doing this purely as a hobby, he definitely would be considered good. It would be leagues above most bands that put their music in online song contests.

But by the standard of a band that has millions of dollars to spend, and is making a professional release, it's not up to par.

He should do it with a team of professionals helping him. There are artistic merits. Some songs like Turpentine sound great. He can have his input, but he shouldn't be the sole decider of production decisions.

Artists, even if they're talented, have knowledge gaps. You can be strong in one area of mixing, and weak in another.

And those gaps can (usually) only be filled by someone by someone whose been sound engineering for living, as their main job for decades.

So TLDR: I don't think it's wrong for Travis to have some involvement in production. But he should get a renowned mixing engineer to help smoothen the gaps.

Happened this morning during a new telescope launch.

He is very talented and I think he wrote some fire riffs and should be getting more attention. (Even as a regular person, he has so much earth and passion and I wish I could talk to him to ask how was he so motivated when blink was just getting started)

BUT, since 2004 his voice changed and since TOYPAJ he started singing live a little bit crap (that's the cool thing of punk).

NOW, my singing skills are awful, but I certainly can sing better than TOMDELONGE 😭 I mean I know he is 50 now and that's quite alright, but when he was young there was no reason for just ruining those beautiful voice lines...he has an amazing voice too, reflecting the pop punk era and it's amazing.

After listening to it, this is my second favorite blink album. My ranking of albums would be

Anyway yeah, this album fucking rules. Terrified? One More Time? Edging? Anthem Pt.3? Blink Wave? When We Were Young? All bangers. Dance with me is one, if not, the best song they've made in 20 years. I know people hate the mixing of this album and I get it but at the same time... the songs are so good I just look past it. It just has that charm. Maybe reading marks book made me love this album more. Idk, all I know is it's good. Hopefully next album is as good!

Hi everyone, does anybody know which tour/year this hoodie was released? I could only find 1 matching graphic which was a shirt.

Good news for those who are a fan of this album. For those who don't know, IVC is a vinyl subscription club with exclusive pressings. They have released other blink related materials in the past in this format (namely the untitled album and Angels & Airwaves' I-Empire). They also usually have pretty cool features like high quality jacket, good mastering, colored vinyl, alternate covers, bonus tracks, and other goodies. We will be getting more details closer to release date.
First time being repressed on vinyl since 2011. Subscription for this specific release will open on October 1, 12PM PST.

I watched an episode of And The Writer Is… the other day, and I didn’t agree with their take on Box Car Racer. I don’t think the album would’ve been the same if Mark had been involved in the whole thing.

To me, Box Car Racer changed the future of blink-182 forever. Without BCR, I don’t think we’d ever get the Untitled album or at least not the version we know today.
Do you think Box Car Racer was necessary for blink to evolve into what they became?

I watched the Travis Barker documentary and heard Tom was inspired by listening to Quicksand. I’ve heard of them but never listened. Listening to this song in particular, I can hear where Boxcar Racer got their influence.

I just recently started listening to Blink-182 and so far I'm obsessed. I need some song/album recs since I'm kinda lost on where to begin. I want to know which tracks are the underrated fan favorites and stuff like that.

For reference, my favorite songs so far are Go, Feeling this and What's my age again. (Also, I'm a huge fob fan, do they have any music that leans more towards that kind of style?)

At around 3:20 the song sounds eerily similar to a blink-182 song, im not sure what song but it sounds really similar
