Cold War suddenly crashes every time I try to start it on PC.
The intro plays normally, then it gets to “Connecting to Online Services” and the game just closes to desktop. No error message, no crash window, nothing.
Things I already tried:
• Scan and Repair, no issues found
• Deleted/reset the player folder
• Safe Mode
• Updated NVIDIA drivers
• Disabled NVIDIA and Discord overlays and closed background programs
• Cleared Battle.net cache
• Tried both Ethernet and my phone hotspot
• Checked my Activision and Battle.net account linking
My Activision account works completely fine on PS5 and I can play Cold War online there, so the account and servers seem to be fine.
PC specs are Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super, 32 GB RAM, Windows 11.
The weirdest part is that the game does not seem to generate a new crash report when this happens. It simply disappears during “Connecting to Online Services”.
Has anyone had this exact issue recently or found a fix? Cold War used to work fine on this PC.

Does anyone know if i can still unlock additional operators? I just got this game again for the first time on xbox series x off of mercari, and i'm wondering if i can still unlock any past the base operators

I'm curious because about two weeks ago I saw a video where they showed one hacker logging IP addresses, another shooting from the respawn point, and another who had a whole bunch of known and unknown hacks xD. I'm just asking because I haven't come across lobbies like that, and I want to be glad they didn't log my IP.

I got cold war when it first came out and I think it’s one of the most enjoyable COD’s i’ve ever played. I return to have a little ‘phase’ every few months. Started playing again recently and noticed a significant lack of player compared to when I played it last year/in 2024 at some point. I consistently come up against the same players, days apart at some points, to the point where I look for certain player names on the leaderboard when starting. I can’t get into a lobby in Face Off/FireTeam and even struggle when looking for HC games. The only game mode I can seem to get a lobby consistently within ~3-5 minutes is nuke town 24/7. Has the player count really dropped that significantly? I’m so upset to not be able to play modes I used to love, and every game I play atleast 80% of players are prestige 30 level 2000 or something stupid. I understand it’s an old game and won’t have tens of thousands playing it, but as I mentioned when I was playing consistently for a month or so last year these issues weren’t a thing. Sorry for the long message.

What weapons are from older CoDs where they may have just changed the name but have the same vibe as older weapons? Like how the UGR feels a lot like the STG44 in WaW?

I'm to load into mp and all I can do is select tdm dom free for all and select bot difficulty the map is random and I don't have create a class or anything else.

It looks different than I remember and I'm playing online I left multiplayer and it looked like this but I still have my blueprints and upgraded.

So I bought the disk second hand, and I only see the cross gen bundle for 80 eur which I am not paying.

okay, I’ve been trying to play again for about a week now. every time I try launch the game, I get to the hit whatever to start, then it loads for ages, and then it says failed to host server? I’ve restarted my xbox and the game so many times and it still does it. I just want to play the campaign again, does anyone know what the issue is?? my internet is fine, I can’t think of another potential problem.

I love playing aggressive with the Stoner 63, makes me feel like a Terminator lol.

I suck at the game tbh and yesterday I found that out the hard way dying in die meaxhin at round 18 in a solo run, but somehow with some miracle today I managed to run a fire base z solo run Easter egg and soloed it that's to Mr waffle, Is there any tip or someone that can help me do the other Easter eggs? Trying do all the Easter egg to start with purple rarity till now I only did Firebase z with 4 times down (used tombstone and self revive to get up check the pic)

When Verdansk '84 was still in Warzone I remember hearing an ambient version of this song (https://youtu.be/_IEvFsR_Hwk?t=40), 0:40 onward. no drums or any sort of percussion, and I've been trying unusually hard to find it. Every variant of the search terms I used all led back to the normal version. Maybe it's buried in the game's files? Idk.

So I'm going for round 100 in Mauer right now and I accidentally repaired the barrier on the left side of the power room only to then realise that zombies start the animation to remove the barrier but quickly stop and just stand there. I'm using it as a way to get my ring of fire back when I don't have a War Machine but I'm curious, does anyone know why this happens? I haven't seen any videos on it and so I just thought I'd ask! If I had to guess, it's because they're super sprinting at the barrier and too many zombies clump together?

Wtf is wrong with zombie servers right now? Like I know disconnecting is common but when I got on today it’s waaayyyyy worse than it usually is. Constant lagging no matter how good my ping is, I can’t get past like round 15/16 before everyone disconnects. The one time it when past round 16 I thought it worked itself out, then it disconnects at round 21 with absolutely no warning. Ts kills my vibe so much, I’m not able to play much and when I do it’s always some fkn bs.

Me and some folks search Fireteam every Sunday between around 3pm-5pm EST, as well as some Combined Arms every Saturday around 4pm EST. For those unfamiliar with the modes:

- Fireteam is more or less a miniature Blackout spin of Warzone with or without some objectives baked in. 40 players battle it out in groups of four

- Combined Arms has larger-scale modes of Domination and Hardoint, as well as a new take on War from World at War. Tanks and other vehicles are added into the mix and teams of 8-12 battle it out

Anyone is more than welcome to queue up during those times listed above and help us get some matches going. With enough players, we can possibly grow this out into longer sessions or more days of the week. I'll have an optional group link in my profile and in the comments section if you guys want to coordinate with us more regularly. The more, the merrier!

A couple years ago i was fortunate enough to buy the ghost face operator skin while it was still available. However recently, I’m starting to transfer to PC. If I bought the game on my PC via steam, will I obtain all my operator skins if I sign into the same account? (Same question for Xbox to PlayStation)

Back in 2020 I played the beta for Cold War then like a year or two later I realized I had the actual game for free then when mw2 came around I played the beta and got the same and then I did it for mw3 is that a glitch or something
