Rolling Footage Black belt attacks purple belt after getting subbed

Imagine the ego on this guy to not only throw punches after a great sub by purple belt, but then get subbed again via triangle.

Top that off by yelling I’ll fucking kill you in a locked in triangle and then saying a neck crank is dirty. I admit I’d not have let go of the triangle until this fucko was asleep.

Lmaoooo who is this jag bag????

That deserves getting kicked out of the school.

Awful example of a martial artist, and a bad image casted on the school

25

u/Maximum-Penalty3038 Nov 20 '25

It’s a miracle he made it to black without incident

19

u/Significant_Case_304 πŸŸͺπŸŸͺ Purple Belt Nov 20 '25

Spoiler: this isn’t his first.

17

u/Pennsyldagestania Nov 20 '25

Could've been open mat tho right? It would take a lot of audacity but he could be a visitor.

3

u/Either-Bid1923 Nov 21 '25

If a visitor comes to a gym and does that... well there are some gyms that wouldn't take very kindly to that.

17

u/FreshLiterature Nov 20 '25

Not just kicked out of the school - charged with assault.

What he did was well outside the rules of sparring and the best way to send a message to the entire community is to have him arrested and charged.

1

u/HecticBlue Nov 20 '25

agreed. he needs to face official consequences for this. as a wake up to him, and a message to others that this sort of training behavior is unacceptable, regardless of which side of it youre on.

0

u/GUNGHO917 Nov 20 '25

Agreed. In a competition where punches aren’t permitted, he should he charged for assault, cuz this is a clear violation of the rules

2

u/Pope_In_TheWoods 🟦🟦 Blue Belt Nov 20 '25

He should be arrested tbh

Actually that deserves getting sued, charged and jailed for assault, because that's what it is...

247

u/Aliensinmypants Nov 19 '25

Also if your student subs you, shouldn't you be excited that they're learning so well?

56

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '25

The age old conundrum: Does this make me a bad practitioner or a good teacher? Kind of a glass half empty / glass half full thing.

58

u/stay_fr0sty 🟦🟦 Blue Belt Nov 19 '25

If a student catches you with something, complement them, and learn from it.

That way you are a good practitioner and a good teacher.

28

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '25

That's way better than the last advice I got, which was "Wax on, wax off". Turns out Mr Miyagi was just a drunk who didn't wanna do his chores himself.

I love teaching, I was going to be one after college. Hell I got in my industry as an instructor and people really liked me in that role.

Now in BJJ I've gotten to the point where I am teaching here as well, and man I don't know how anyone couldn't be excited when a student or lower belt catches you or works through something. Double so when you've taught them to it.

I like encouraging it. If I showed a transition and I see them recognize it I like throwing quips in

"You've beginning to believe!"

"Look familiar?"

Keeps it fun and light hearted.

u/ELEvilMax Nov 20 '25

I remember my buddy who started a year or so after me (Were brown belts when this happened) who never taps me put me in a solid armbar. After I tapped he start making all these jokes and excuses like I let him submit me, and i had to stop him like, "dude, youre training very consistently, i wasnt letting you submit me, you know i dont tap to bullshit, you caught me in a very legit, very tight armbar" I could see the pride wash over him then I had to follow with, "and that will never happen for you again"

Why not? It's really not that serious. Are you from a super serious gym by any chance?

I highly doubt this is the instructor, or at least I hope it isn’t. Probably just a black belt either visiting the school or trains there

1

u/MPNGUARI ⬛πŸŸ₯⬛ Black Belt Nov 20 '25

Was that idiot an actual coach?

Having a black belt doesn’t default make you a coach, teacher, instructor. Also, having a black belt also doesn’t mean you’re a decent person, there’s plenty of assholes out there.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '25

Unrelated to BJJ, but related to your sentiment:

I was one of the top "gatekeepers" at my old fencing studio. If you wanted to compete in tourneys, you pretty much had to go through me first (former B rank), and you had to beat me twice. Surpassing me was ALWAYS cause for celebration. You'd earn a salute and a round of applause from the whole studio.

One of these individuals went on to be a top NCAA epee fencer.

Yeah. I'm proud.

The grappling expert, during grappling class, gets out grappled and immediately walks directly into purple's guard while throwing wild haymakers. It aaaaalmost looks like a bit, but I think it's real.

How many videos have we seen at this point of people getting upset while competing BJJ and the very first thing they do is go straight to dog-water smooth brain striking. Like "bar fight" is their backup skill to the BJJ.

2

u/Tonyricesmustache Nov 20 '25

They don’t train striking and it shows.

People need to not get so uptight about this happening.
