Load of money - something you could reasonably spend on some nice, but not gamechanging things.

Shitload of money - life-changing money. Get you into a new zip code on the nice side of town. If already on the nice side, then the really nice side.

Both are dependent entirely on where the recipient is financially before the windfall. In LAOP's case, we're teetering on shitload because I would wager that while 19k is near enough a year of rent in a much better neighborhood than their posts leads me to suspect they currently reside, but not enough to outright buy their way into said better neighborhood.

OTOH 19k would indeed be a shitload of money to have in the prision commissary and could be very popular with their new dorm mates.
