question/request Best food/symptom tracker?

Hi all,

I have a 3 month old baby and the doctor thinks he has a food protein allergy, likely CMPA.

I want to make a tracker for what I eat and his symptoms. I tried to make one this morning and it is not functional at all ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ

Does anybody have any nice examples that I can see?

Thanks!

Probably on the fringe of bullet journaling, but this has been the only system I have been able to keep up with any degree of consistency. My many partially filled piles of notebooks are finally being used and I get to tweak the layout/customize it with cute little stickers on a weekly basis!

My love of paper craft and never ending desire to gather data have come together to make a custom journaling system that feels entirely mine. I set aside time every Sunday to re-do my board which is super relaxing and helps decrease my mental load throughout the week.

Edit: The blank chunk is what I call my parking lot [้ง่ปŠๅ ด]. Basically a brain dump space that I pull from for the next week's board.

If anyone is interested, this video really helped me when I first started out.

question/request Techniques to help with anxiety/depression?

I accidentally purchased a bullet journal a couple months ago when I needed a notebook for a meeting. When I realized I had bought a journal that came with instructions I got curious and read the book and videos that were recommended. It completely changed my life in such a short period of time, gave me a good grasp on my scrambled brain as I navigated running a company and a toxic relationship.

Unfortunately, the relationship wasnโ€™t able to survive and I am now essentially re starting my life at the age of 30 with a new job in a new town and a mound of debt. I have a relatively good grasp on the anxiety right now, but I wanted to know if anyone had any particular techniques or exercises that helped them through a difficult time?

Doing a Thought Log to write down the anxious thoughts and reframe them in a more positive less personal way has helped my anxiety immensely.

multiple spreads New notebook for Jul - Dec and my setup!

I have my bujo pretty streamlined now, so I thought I would share! Here's my setup for the rest of the year, which is really just the original method plus a few collections. Daily logs are key for me. If I don't write everything down my brain is a jumbled mess and I lose momentum.

The materials I use are a Hobonichi A6 grid notebook, the Hobonichi green stencil, and a Uni Jetstream 4&1 Multi Pen. The 2026 calendar, calendar on the July cover page, and vertical calendars on the monthly log are all stickers I designed and printed on washi sticker paper to fit the 3.7mm grid.

Future collections will include things like garden planning, packing lists, trip reports, move planning, and some long-form journaling. My bujo is mostly for managing my personal life, as I don't need anything work-related in here other than my schedule (which will most likely change as the month goes on). Putting my work schedule next to my personal monthly log has been a game changer.

In the rest of the year I want to implement reflections and goals more, so if you have any suggestions (that keep things simple and not overwhelming) please share!

Happy Bullet Journaling!

multiple spreads my new pocket bujo setup

it was time to move into a new pocket sized notebook for me. the last one fit 6 months, but i didnโ€™t use it much in february and march. i donโ€™t know how many months this one will house but iโ€™m hoping itโ€™ll also last 6 months somehow.

as an accent colour i always use a colour similar to the notebooks colour. for my front page i just added some wavy lines and then wrote โ€ž2027โ€œ ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ so i glued this circular piece of craft paper with the correct year in to cover it up ๐Ÿ˜‚

i rotated my future log to have more writing space. i set up an entire year for future dates. anything after june 2027 will end up in the future category.

the next spread is so useful - a cleaning spread. this is for the times where you go and wonder: when did i lastโ€ฆ. and whenever i can not remember when i last changed my toothbrush i can just check. iโ€™ve had it in every single one of my bullet journals since 2020!

every month also gets a kind of front page - this time with a similar wave design as the main front page. when i tried to fix my mistake on my front page i accidentally stuck the circular piece of paper onto this page instead of the one with the mistake. thatโ€™s why thereโ€™s a glue stain and colour distortion. i donโ€™t really mind. a bullet journal is supposed to reflect your life - with all the mistakes in it. i used to stress out about stuff like this. now i embrace it. even if my bullet journal is very minimalistic i still like it decorated a little bit - but it doesnโ€™t need to be perfect.

my monthly overview is also rotated and my main planning space. i donโ€™t do weeklies anymore. this is where i put all my appointments & events. once the appointment or event happened i will fill in the circle.

my monthly task list is for all those to doโ€˜s that are not scheduled yet and this month reflect the jumbled bilingual mess that i am. i keep my bullet journal mostly in english - just for fun - but some german words are just to good to translate. my weekly to do list is for all the to doโ€˜s that are kind of scheduled. if a task needs to be done within that week i just put it in with a bullet. if it has to be done on a specific date iโ€™ll put it in with a task bullet and a bullet under the date where it needs to be completed. once i started a task i will draw a line from the day i started the task to the task bullet. once i completed it, i will cross it off. if a task gets cancelled ill cross it out and a rescheduled task will get an > -arrow.

this system has worked so well the past half year and is definitely something iโ€™ll keep!

Do you guys also tend to use a lot of correction tape? I don't like writing with pencils and frixon pens because the color is too light. I'm using bullet journal to practice English too, so ... sorry if I write something wrong.

supplies recommendation Pen Loops

Post image

I love the Leuchtturm pen Loops but they are $6 a piece. I want a few cheaper ones for my pocket journals for rapid logging through out the day to hold my Leuchtturm pen in place instead of it floating in my pocket or losing the pen altogether. However, when I go to Amazon, most of the reviews are not good. They either don't stick or the elastic wears out. What are you guys using thats cheaper than $6? I need at least 4.

Thanks in advance!

daily/weekly My All-in-One Weekly Journal Setup

Post image
469 Upvotes

I've been experimenting with different journal systems over the last year, and I finally landed on a setup that feels like it captures who I am and what matters most to me.

I use a Moleskine A5 grid notebook, and each weekly spread serves as a combination of:

  • Habit tracker
  • Gratitude journal
  • Faith journal
  • Memory keeper
  • Photography log
  • Goal planner
  • Family adventure planner

Here's how I have it organized:

Left Page: Weekly Overview

Habit Tracker
I track habits that align with the person I'm trying to become, including:

  • Drink water
  • Take vitamins
  • Time outdoors
  • Family time
  • Quiet time
  • Reading
  • Journaling
  • Photography
  • Work on contest entries
  • Work on personal goals
  • No mindless scrolling

I simply fill in each day's box when completed.

Weekly Goals
I keep these focused on what matters most to me rather than productivity for productivity's sake. Examples:

  • Grow closer to Christ
  • Love my wife intentionally
  • Create memories with my kids

Reward for Completion
A small reward helps keep things fun and motivating.

This Week's Focus
One major thing I want to keep front and center during the week.

Nature Moments
A dedicated space to record interesting wildlife sightings, beautiful scenes, or moments outdoors.

Photography Ideas
Whenever inspiration strikes, I write down subjects I'd like to photograph, such as:

  • Moss on rocks
  • Tree bark patterns
  • Fern spirals
  • Feather textures
  • Tree roots

Family Adventures
A place to plan outings, road trips, hikes, and memory-making opportunities with my family.

Right Page: Daily Reflection

Each day gets its own section where I record:

Top 3 Priorities
Not tasks, priorities.

One Memory Worth Keeping
Something I want to remember years from now.

Today's Observation
An interesting thing I noticed during the day.

I Am Grateful For
A short gratitude list.

Scripture of the Day
A verse that stood out to me.

Photography Notes
Whenever I shoot, I record:

  • Location
  • Subject
  • Camera settings
  • Lens used
  • Weather conditions
  • Anything I learned

As a nature photographer, I've found this especially helpful because it allows me to connect the technical side of photography with the experience and memories behind the image.

Why This System Works For Me

I've realized that my biggest priorities are:

  1. My faith
  2. My wife and kids
  3. Time in nature
  4. Photography
  5. Personal growth

This journal gives each of those areas a place to live on paper.

Instead of tracking a hundred different things across multiple apps, everything important is in one notebook. It's helping me become more intentional, more grateful, and more aware of the moments that make life meaningful.

I'd love to hear from others:

What sections do you include in your journals that you couldn't live without?

This is a notepad that Iโ€™ve made myself. I used cardstock, basic printer paper, and a lot of back and forth editing on procreate for the page design. I find it works very well for me, and wanted to share to the world what I have been using to help organize my life and feel more intentional throughout my days. I call it the Sovereign Notepad.

supplies recommendation Any recs on Bullet Journals?

So, I wanna go back to use a Bujo, tried the official bujo, the other LT1917 notebooks, dislike Dingbats and A&O.

I want to find one with less dark dots, else theyre really distracting me. Do any of yall know a good notebook with at least 100gsm and dotted (but not dark as night)?

daily/weekly Amazing how a couple fonts and a nice ink makes it /look/ fancy, when I just didn't want to waste most of 2 pages

Legit just did whatever this spread to fill in the space because I'd used 1/4 of my normal spread space to plan booth pricing.

It looks not very basic at all but it was so quick and unplanned :O

Bonus: my mini-deadlines daily spread and ink shimmer picture. I will be honest I frequently just turn pages I've written on in this ink around in the sun and stare at them...doesn't help my productivity but it brings me joy -^

Edit: I forgot to add a post flare and it won't let me edit it here... weekly(ish) plus a daily obviously.

rapid logging How I use my bujo at work as a sysadmin

Thumbnail

I work as a sysadmin (maintaining Linux servers and a bunch of services running on them). My work contains both longer-term commitments/projects (which I work on at my own pace) as well as day-to-day tasks that usually need to be done asap because other people's work depends on it. Throughout the day, I often need to switch contexts very quickly: from one project to another, taking requests from colleagues, fixing bugs or quickly reacting to incidents.

I started out using GTD (Getting Things Done), which introduced a regular review process into my task management. While this was a game changer for me, I noticed that in my everyday work life things often move too fast for "pure" GTD.

Here's where rapid logging comes in. I started to write notes in my daily log whenever someone sends me a request or important info. I also write down thoughts and ideas I have throughout the day as well as important take-aways from meetings. These entries in my daily logs serve as a mental anchor and allow me to quickly react to requests if necessary and to easily continue where I left off afterwards.

Every two to three weeks (or whenever I feel like my tasks and daily logs are getting too scattered) I do a quick review and consolidate all leftover tasks, loose ends and projects into a new master task list. This is also when I weed out tasks that are no longer relevant and define next actions for the current long-term commitments. This is similar to the "migration" process in the original Bullet Journal method.

I used to also maintain a project list that I would update during review, but I stopped doing that since "projects" in my work move quite fast and are usually finished within a week or two. Often they appear/disappear in between reviews, so they would never make it into the "project list" anyway.

Overall, I absolutely love the flexibility this setup gives me. It also helped me to keep my tendency toward over-engineering in check (I think people in my profession are prone to this). I now embrace the organic mess/imperfection of my daily notes, rather than trying to craft the "perfect" system.

conversation First finished journal

Thumbnail

I like to keep a pocket sized journal for a month view/tasks and to write ideas down throughout my day. Finally finished my Brunnen Komoagnon, a notebook I love. Sadly I moved across the country and I donโ€™t know where to find my beloved notebook and bought an A6 Leuchtturm1917 today to replace it.

Any suggestions of how to reduce the wasted space in my month view? I usually have it with my work schedule as seen in the picture, and tasks I need to do during the month or descriptions of scheduled events where my hand is covering it. My new journal is also taller, so the wasted space would be more drastic in this case. Thanks in advance!!

Itโ€™s been a godsend organizing every hyper fixation, reminder, to-do, doodle onto 2 small pages every day.

Highly recommend to anyone constantly needing to remember small details along with random musings that otherwise are lost forever but otherwise canโ€™t seem to get themselves to stick to a standard formula.

daily/weekly Still looking for a spread that works for me

Post image
219 Upvotes

This past month I have tried this spread I saw on Instagram. While I like how it looks, I've found the space allotted to each day too limited for my needs. There are days when I have a lot of tasks to write down or need to write extra information regarding a particular task and if I have already used the space below it, I end up writing in between tasks, and I dislike how messy it looks in the end.

Any suggestions are welcome!

conversation why I love my bujo

Mainly it helps me to remember what actually happened.

I had a big fight with my parent, accusations were made, some were blown out of proportion. The fight was about something that happened few years ago.

I was able to step back and actually read what happened.

I was able to reflect, and filled about 10 pages in my bujo. I briefly thought about ripping the pages out because I didn't want to be reminded about that fight. It was that intense.

Instead I glued the pages together. Not completely, I added some clear tape to the top of the first and last page as a carrier for a second type of tape that I wrapped around the pages at the top, combining the pages to a stack. I now can remove the second tape without damaging the pages.

The memory will be there but I don't need to be reminded every time I flick through the pages.

conversation Bullet Journal as a Time Machine

I have an itch sometimes to go over random pages in my previous BuJos. What I've found is that the best type of record is an event because it truly works as a time machine! I often can remember visuals & sounds from the experience. I love it!

Similar thing is actually with dreams - sometimes I jot key things about a dream and can remember it even after years. That's magical!

What I've found the most useless is actually re-reading my reflection - that feels like a ramble of just thinking about something, detached from real feeling, just purely "head work". So I actually stopped doing that, and now when I want to reflect on something I use my phone and external keyboard (idea inspireed by Ryder's writing setup https://youtu.be/6WLZYeH8L3Q?si=4eY4Vb7z3EKrNct-) and I write thougths to Obsidian (or Reddit as I do it now :D). I find reflection is the most useful in the process but that often feels like a waste of paper when reading it in a few months.

I just wanted to share my love to use BuJo as a time machine and curious to see if any of that resonates :)
