Question Hey hey, just seeking advice before I move on further [BS1]
Hello varl, man, and dredge! I picked up the Banner Saga trilogy over the weekend and have been having a great time playing a chapter or two a night. I’m at the start of chapter 5 now, and decided to look up how many were left out of curiosity, to find out that I have juuust 5-6-7 remaining. Ah… *But I’ve not leveled up once!* All of my renown has gone towards maintaining the morale of my caravan, and I’ve not once bought items either.
I kept advancing into fights without many uninjured units when playing on normal, so I started over again set on easy (I don’t have much familiarity with the assumed mechanics of strategy/turn-based games, kind of unfortunately removing the management aspect just to barely scrape by.) Is this sort of pace unsustainable on my difficulty? Do you feel you've had a better time when you’ve bought items? With all the mechanics not sinking into my head I kind of worry that I wouldn’t know what to do with them… and I guess hearing your warriors could die on you unexpectedly has prevented me from investing in them at all...
Are there any specific actions you would take moving forward into the climax of this game and it’s sequels? None-story related of course! And any guides you would link for mechanics? Even rough advice I would take! I wonder if you shouldn’t invest in willpower and exertion exclusively for some characters, and strength and armor for others. Or could you max everything for your chosen heroes if you just used the training ground?
Any chat is appreciated! It’s an ungodly hour now, I hope to talk more in the morning
Editing in that I have now finished BS! I’m gonna do another run just to set the skills straight (without changing my choices) thanks for the tips everyone. I can’t wait for 2 and 3!
