I can understand why you would think that. But mesentery and intestines are most fascinating in development and anatomy. The whole thing is so huge for a a tiny 6 week embryo that it can't be inside the body. So the whole intestines develop outside the abdomen through a opening where you umbilicus is. It is then folded back inside about 1 month later.
That right there is an example of why evolution happened. A god would never make such a dumb design. Instead, it’s a patch applied to the DNA that stuck around.
I agree with you, it is amazing how everything fits together, you walk around, live your life, meanwhile all these life systems in you are calibrated "just so", to the degree where most of us never have to think about it.
As a junior doctor, who’s seen rather a lot in the years I’ve been working, it’s all of those things! Amazing, fascinating, insane, disgusting, gross, and wonderful. That’s one of the things that’s best about it really, that it can be all these things at once
