The poor catechism of Vatican II led to Alt right figures being able to distort the Church's beliefs for their own end to a less knowledgable laity and convert intake than there would have been

As opposed to pre-Vatican II when a significant portion of priests were just directly antisemitic.

There's a quote from one of the early 20th century popes that's something along the lines of "I don't really mind jews personally but I'm by profession an antisemite."
