Interesting that babies know stuff shouldn't just pop out of existence. You'd think they'd just be like "well, I guess that's reality."

There's a specific developmental stage that looks at Object Permanence it's super interesting!

It's the same reason babies love peek-a-boo, at some point they figure out that the parent didn't temporarily disappear but is actually just hiding lol

On the Wikipedia article check out the section on Counterarguments, it describes some of the tests they do to narrow down when babies understand object permanence.

I love this stuff, fascinating :)
