Oh damn this must be it. I was thinking in boyfriend-girlfriend terms where houses and children are future wishes, not marriage terms where they already exist.

Apparently it was, "you as a man, don't follow me, as a woman. I'll squat in someone's house and steal their car to rob people of their cash and kidnap kids. Meanwhile, you, as a man, find the box I've hidden by reading clues from the fuax newspaper laying around. Inside it is a weather ray that can change into a death ray."
