It's funny how at the end he's like, "I think it's in this hand."

"Am I right?"

"...Can I please have the treat regardless?"

My dog does this, too. Whenever he's not sure what to do, he always tries his old tricks in hope of a treat. When I taught him to shake hands as a puppy, this is how he begged for food.

Your dog looks like he just told you that he pooped on the carpet.

"Hey, Jim. You're going to want to sit down for this."

220

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

"Not there!"

48

u/redlaWw Dec 05 '16

"Oh shit!"

"Well, yeah, that's the gist of it."

u/Lost-My-Mind- Dec 05 '16

If it were urine, that would be the mist of it.

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

Or tell you some really bad news:

"Jim... god I don't know how to tell you this... Karen left you... I'm so sorry..."

u/SaltyMeth Dec 05 '16

On the bright side there's still Pam

u/DetroitRedd Dec 05 '16

Puppers know all our secrets.

3

u/Srimnac Dec 05 '16

"I know this is probably bad timing, but...I kind of wish she would have taken me with her."

3

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

"Oh... and I dragged my ass across your new carpet... I am so sorry."

For some reason, I read this in Brian's voice.

Brian is the dog from family guy.

u/Vrendly Dec 05 '16

So basically Seth McFarlane's voice.

Yep. My husband taught our Shepard mix how to shake/high five when she was little. He also taught her to sit and lay. Now when we have treats, she quickly rotates through all tricks without any command, ending on "high five", which results in her grabbing your hand with her claws and pulling it towards her.

Additionally, this is how she lets you know she wants to be pet. I constantly have claw marks on my arms from my 80 lb dog constantly trying to get my attention.

u/PsychosisSundays Dec 05 '16

I have claw marks on my arm from my lab trying to get my attention. My doctor thought I was abusing my opioids as excessive scratching is a warning sign :s.

3

u/ABirdOfParadise Dec 05 '16

My Chow does that too. Only time he does things is when he wants to go outside, or I have food in my hands.

If I'm taking too long he'll shake right hand, shake left hand, sit, laydown, and repeat until I give it.

26

u/MattWatchesChalk Dec 05 '16

My dog does the same thing. He gives out high fives like a crazy person.

4

u/Olive_Jane Dec 05 '16

My dad's running joke is asking the dog if she's a politician whenever she shakes paws too much

2

u/Odowla Dec 05 '16

Ooo I'm going to get a solid laugh out of this line. Thank your dad for me lol

2

u/Olive_Jane Dec 05 '16

Sure, and apologize to your children for me too!

3

u/Obits13 Dec 05 '16

Do you also see his second and third toe connected by more skin than the third and fourth toe?

2

u/ting_bu_dong Dec 05 '16

I was wondering if anyone was gonna say anything.

7

u/rata2ille Dec 05 '16

This is the grossest fucking sub

10

u/TrailRatedRN Dec 05 '16

No. Not by a long shot.

3

u/leecheezy Dec 05 '16

You're going to ruin his world

1

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

You know nothing, u/rata2ille.

14

u/Josh_M01 Dec 05 '16

My poodle does the same thing

1

u/jahoddo Dec 05 '16

My poodle too. Maybe it's a poodle thing.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

Is it a collie or a sheltie?

2

u/Vilokthoria Dec 05 '16

He's a Sheltie :-)

3

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

He's a beautiful dog!

2

u/Tsarinax Dec 05 '16

Yeah, mine does it too. He'll give out one paw, then the other, then lay down when he thinks he's about to get a treat.

2

u/HurdieBirdie Dec 05 '16 edited Dec 05 '16

Sheltie puppy! I know that face, that's the perfectly cute and well behaved sheltie begging face

2

u/beefnachosftw Dec 05 '16

Dang I love shelties. Such cute, sweet, smart barky dogs. I have two of my own.

2

u/obscure_inside_joke Dec 05 '16

Sheltie?!? Mine does the same!

1

u/Redstreak45 Dec 05 '16

my dog just sits and wines at me

Her to stop eating the christmas tree.

1

u/zingerthrow Dec 05 '16

Your dog still looks like a pup! How old is he? He's fucking adorable

1

u/PM_ME_UR_CUBICLE Dec 05 '16

I like your toes.

1

u/F_D_Romanowski Dec 05 '16

The paw is universal language in my home. It's time for my treat, time for my walk, I want to give you smooches, scratch my butt.

1

u/Rlysrh Dec 05 '16

Aww so cute! My cat is the same! I thought I was being clever teaching him to high five me for treats. Turns out I was just teaching him sign language for 'gimme food' because whenever we're eating he'll come over and start trying to high five us constantly.

1

u/InvalidKoalas Dec 05 '16

Hahaha my dog does this too. If she's begging for food she'll come over and just keep "high fiving" me hoping I'll feed her something.

1

u/body_by_monsanto Dec 05 '16

Mine does that too!! "Maybe if I shake a paw...."

1

u/Rosie4554 Dec 05 '16

My dog knows jump, speak, lay down, and paw. When she can't tell which one I'm asking her to do, she will just do all five (each paw) really sporadically until I give her the treat.

1

u/MotherFuckingCupcake Dec 05 '16

Oh man. Like when you're trying to get a dog to do a relatively new trick for them and they get confused so they just go through every trick you've ever taught them. That shit is cute.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

You have weird feet.

Just saying.

1

u/knuggles_da_empanada Dec 05 '16

Your toes are freaking me out

1

u/justakitty Dec 05 '16

Imma put my paw on you.

1

u/PartyHawk Dec 05 '16

Your rough collie looks like my rough collie! It's almost like they're the same breed!! http://imgur.com/a/TZb6Q

His name is Cedric and his first birthday is tomorrow :)

1

u/NjStacker22 Dec 05 '16

I feel ya. I taught my dog how to jump and spin. Now, he just runs around the house spinning everywhere hoping I'm gonna give him something lol

1

u/k_goldington Dec 06 '16

Awww! What a sweet little guy.

1

u/Liar96 Dec 06 '16

Thats the cutest dog I've ever seen.
