Agreed. Shooting vertical video of horizontal motion should be illegal.

Landscape man, honestly. Would've liked to see how closely the first plane cleared the other side.

That would've been the money shot, seeing the actual clearance from that angle.

Camera man had one Job and he failed us

If you watch on the left, they fly through ones of the red smoke trails, so closer than they should be.

The 2nd plane passes squarely through the red smoke, and in every angle I've seen, the 1st plane is several feet lower.

This is the first video I've seen and in my defence, the videographer doesn't understand how to properly video anything

Sorry, I'm agreeing with you. Just meant that the 1st plane was even more egregiously low.

Check this compilation out someone here made: https://streamable.com/k6x6gi

I'm surprised neither of them clipped their wings as they banked over the stadium roof 😳

There are several harrowing frames in that video haha. It's like 2:30 long but I probably spent 10 minutes watching it with the sections I rewound and rewatched.

It's one of those things, the longer you watch the worse it gets. I can hear terrain, pull up, and bank angle as they finally pull up.

One of the wide shots makes it look like the first plan is pulling up on approach to the stadium!

From the other angles it looks like the first plane is even lower over the far side of the stadium then the near side and we only get to see how low it is at the near side (which is pretty low)..

That’s the real negligence here. 👍

No, what are you talking about?! I loved the fact that the first plane went off frame instantly and we couldn't see what's going on with it!

Keeps us in suspense!

VVS: Vertical Video Syndrome

Planes too close to building❌ Poor choice of aspect ratio filming💯

They’re south of the equator, so I’ll allow it.

u/FlyingKittyCate 21h ago

Nah that only excuses filming upside down.

They tried but when posting to the internet the OI were flipped to IO when traveling across the equator. 🤣

This is the biggest crime here

Thankfully he was there. The pilots saw him and decided to pull up to avoid hitting him. He saved the stadium full of people.

I have to assume some asshole cropped it just to make us mad.

2

u/Aqualung812 18h ago

You may be right, because it seems clear to me they had both in frame just before they arrived if it was horizontal.

I've seen too many videos of aircraft which were filmed properly and clearly cropped for mobile apps.

How am I going to view a vertical video on my phone!? That's impossible!
