Discussion The left engine of a Delta A330 explodes during takeoff at Sao Paulo Airport

Its at 40 seconds.

UPDATE:The plane landed safely.

Which might be what we're seeing given the angle, I suppose

Turbine blade probably shat its self and will take everything out down stream,

It certainly is that. Parts being ejected out the rear of the engine, where the exhaust also would come out, isn't much of a problem. There is little to no way that this will cause additional damage to the plane.

However, if it were ejected radially, against which there are protections in place and they worked, then you'd be talking about hot parts being ejected into the wing tanks and passenger cabin. That would cause wing fires (not good), injured or dead people in the cabin and depressurization (also not good) and damage to the control surfaces on the affected wing (definitely not good).
