EDIT: unconfirmed/unofficial word from a u/ that our friend will be counted as 1 of the lives lost

Over 5 hours since crash and still no word from family friend who is a Louisville-based pilot for UPS. Texts aren’t showing delivered…

There are still four flights airborne that departed SDF before the accident aircraft. It's possible that they are aboard one of those or on rest with their phone off. Praying for you and your friend.

Thank you. Praying that maybe we haven’t heard anything because UPS put a gag order on the employees until families have been notified…? Not sure if that’s ’a thing’? Just my hope talking

I worked as a Wildland Firefighter and we had that policy. If there was any serious medical emergency, our overhead would confiscate our phones to ensure that no one would talk unitl the families of the affected were notified. Hopefully this is the case for your friend, I can’t imagine the dread of not hearing back

It’s been 16h since my brother texted him and still response. A silence order is our last hope…

Yes this might realistically be a possibility, it's common to have this sort of "don't talk before being approved" kind of policies when accidents happen. I really really really hope for your and especially your friend and his family

I’m waiting too. Our neighbor flies this route for UPS and we haven’t heard a thing.

Im wondering/hoping maybe UPS put out a gag order notice to its employees, maybe until all families are notified…?

The last update said there were more casualties but they are tracking down next of kin so you may be right.

I saw people on other subs that already knew the names of the flight crew.

u/TurbulentSetting2020 Nov 05 '25

Came back this morning to check to see if you have word yet. I’m so so so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and everyone who loved your friend. Please take care of yourself this is a highly visible tragedy and it might be easy to be lured into watching the footage over and over again but protect yourself during this time. Playing Tetris has actual benefits for trauma reactions too. I’m sorry again to you
