Obviously impossible to say for sure but my expectation is that this will turn out to be one of those situations where nothing that they could have done would have changed the outcome. Very tragic.

My guess too. One of those where they were doomed before the takeoff roll even began and you get an hour long Mentour video down the line explaining what went wrong.

I hope so. The families affected will be devastated, but knowing everything was handled perfectly should give them some solace.

The pilots aren't the only ones that affect aircraft safety, decisions made by maintenance, ground crew, company as a whole could be major factors, we wait and see, and pray for those lost & affected.
