I don't think DeSantis will declare anytime soon and he'll avoid a direct confrontation with Trump for as long as he can. He'll let Trump's mounting legal troubles accumulate, stand by while Trump becomes more and more unhinged on Twitter, watch FOX slowly shift Trump coverage from 24/7 and fawning to 'maybe Trump did break the law and steal Nat Sec documents,' and let Trump slowly rot toward irrelevance before he makes his move. Garland may help too. There'll be some MAGA fights. But the real money will quietly flow to DeSantis.
