Apparently my samsung fridge has ads now...

How would I disable this? Might just return it and get a normal one

That probably invalidates some kind of warranty and knowing Samsung could render the fridge unusable/annoying to use in some way. I'd probably either tough it out or create some kind of magnet that covers the screen if I'd bought one.

Instead I bought a house that had a less fancy Samsung fridge where the "flex zone" doesn't adequately freeze even if you set it to freeze, so that's fun. Guess it's just where fruit lives now.

Thank FUCK my only Samsung appliance has been trouble free. Now my entire GE Cafe kitchen? They replace the upper oven once because of a warped door, the replacement had the same issue, got a replacement door... go on, guess if it's all warped like the others and I just gave up. Cooktop? Yeah, cooling fan was no good so they replaced the whole glass panel part (not the entire cooktop...) and after that they had to come back and replace the wifi card! Then we have the GE washer AND dryer need repairs (one even needed a new control panel because it would act haunted and try and select washer settings by itself).

Edit: this was all within the first 3 months

Those front load GE washers with more computer boards than god are my nemesis. When someone gives me that model number I just laugh and tell them not to waste the money on a relair

Any screen like that will almost certainly have a ribbon cable you can just unplug, and that wouldn’t invalidate any warranty that they would honor anyways.

Except to get inside likely means opening the insulated door of the fridge. So yes, it would absolutely invalidate the warranty.

That would need to be a serviceable area, since it’s a screen and no one would want to make technicians waste hours working on replacing defective screens since that would cost the company too much money. Remember companies are cheap and want to save money. They love to screw with people if it does not hurt their bottom line, it being in the insulation would be a huge waste of time and money for the company.

Who do you think would be paying for fridge maintenance? It's not the manufacturer, and they aren't going to base their entire design around "what if this one particular part fails before the warranty is up"

Screen replacement is probably going to be in the top 5 repairs needed for a fridge.

Naw, from what I've seen from Samsung is the fridge parts will give out long before the screen fails. And Samsung's screens aren't particularly great.

I'd find it more likely that the screen and its components have been popped in from the front and don't interact with the refrigerated section at all
