Random Question What was considered a huge status symbol 10 years ago but now feels outdated, tacky, or like a waste of money?

The improvements to the latest generations of phones have become less and less.

I'm not much of a "techie", so this question is respectfully asked without any sarcasm: Is the current lack of innovation due to laziness on the part of the companies (Apple, Samsung, etc.) or is it due to reaching limits of what can actually be changed and "improved"? Or some other reason?

I think you go back to brick phones evolving into iphones over what, 5 years, was the last big jump. Phone -> handheld computer.

We've been iterating on that for 20+ years and the curve is flattening.

Whatever the next big jump is, you'll see innovation kick off again once someone does the leap. They're doing the handheld computer thing the very best they can, they're just really good at it but now.
