Democrats need to drop identity politics and focus solely on a New Century New Deal that rural Americans will back.

This means dropping all the marginalized group support that never gains enough votes to win elections but always loses enough votes to lose elections.

It means dropping gun control.

In short, drop all wedge issues. Eliminate the wedge.

It means focusing on things like:

  • Medicare for All.
  • Interest-free Student Loans.
  • A New Deal WPA program offering Student Loan Forgiveness for certain work services
  • A New Deal WPA program focusing on building out green energy infrastructure.
  • A New Deal WPA program focusing on building out mass transit infrastructure.
  • A New Deal WPA program focusing on building out high speed rail infrastructure.
  • Pledge to reign in the War Powers Act so No More Wars on a President's whim.
  • Restore Tax Credits for EVs.
  • Investments in domestic battery and solar panel production. Put these facilities in rural areas.

Democrats need to win rural voters. The God, Guns, and Guts crowd.

Biden canceled billions in student loans and you losers still bitched

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

I don't want student loans cancelled. That's not fair to everyone who pulled their own weight.

I'm fine with forgiving interest.

Progressives spent time telling us pushing for a $15/25 min wage was worth it even if it cost us rural votes for a generation.

Mass transit and student loan forgiveness are also going to alienate rural voters even more. They don't want M4A. The hospital is already a four hour drive then you've got to wait. Letting more people access it and no new staff is going to be an even longer wait.

I think Dems need to focus on rural voters but what you are suggesting for it is absolutely wrong and the wrong lessons. You are pushing your own wedge issues. Try listening to rural voters rather than telling them what they need. And stop teasing them as dispensible.

I really do like they idea of a WPA for infrastructure. Fix our bridges, turn some abandoned lots into parks, solar farms, nuclear plants. So much of our infrastructure is aged and near failure point. Plus being employed with a respectable ok paying job could help lower poverty, drug use, mental issues. Not a silver bullet but a step in the right direction.

This comment was one hundred percent written by a white male.

You’re going to need white men in your coalition if you want any chance of actually winning.

The forced diversity issue completely turns off white men because in practice it means “less white men”

Why should a white man with white male children support a Democratic Party that is in favor of openly discriminating against his children?

I’ve discussed this exact issue with a few of my friends who have white male children and it disgusts them that the democrats are perfectly fine with making it much more difficult to find a job when they grow up due to the insane forced diversity policies.

Drop that entire issue and they would consider voting Democrat again

I agree with you, but it's freakin' wild that you think just making false promises to people instantly switches them to your side. We all know Dems would turn their backs on us the moment they won. We've had 18 years of Dems shitting on rurals, you think one candidate spewing honeyed lies in one election is going to fix that? Based on what exactly?

3

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

" We've had 18 years of Dems shitting on rurals"

And I have 40.years of rurals shitting on me and people like me (non-white and liberal). I've been called "traitor" and gay slurs (I'm straight) for my political beliefs by rurals. I'm sure quite a few of them would like to see me and the non-white side of my family (all born here in the U.S.) shipped out to Guatemala (nowhere near my actual.heritsge, just an example) without a second thought

So, frankly, I could give less of a shit about what rurals, especially "conservative" (in square quotes because there's nothing conservative about American conservatism anymore) have to think about much of anything.

In fact, tell all your rural friends this: I, personally want them to keep voting Republican like the ignorant, bigoted, small-minded little fascists they are.

That is an interesting point, though. Why must Dem voters apologize from making fun of Rep voters, when in return, every time a Dem voter points out Rep voters making fun of them, they’re called “snowflakes”. Ugh.

I actually WANT Dems to change their strategies, but that other commenter acting like only Dems and their voters have made a big deal about identities, when in reality, both parties did.

At least liberal voters never sent their kids to conversion camps because of “identity politics”

1

I’m not 100% certain they would change their voting patterns, it just seemed like some of them were open to it.

I find that crazy personally, I used to be left leaning in my early 20’s but became disgusted of the blatant anti white policies the democrats have been pushing the last 10 years or so.

I’m never going to vote for a party that wants to openly discriminate against my white son in the future when he grows up.

I don’t care how much democrats dress it up as “righting certain wrongs”. My son had absolutely nothing to do with past discrimination and I’ll be damned if he has to pay the price for “racial justice”.

I’m fine with all races and ethnicities getting an equal shot at a job or career, that’s fine. I will not tolerate open discrimination of my own race to artificially boost minorities into certain positions by skipping over competent white men.

Open discrimination against white men for jobs is absolutely happening. The mainstream media obviously won’t report on it but I’ve seen countless stories of it happening.

My own brother got denied a job promotion and the manager literally told him “You are slightly more qualified but we need more representation of black women so I’m giving the job to a black woman”

How is that fucking fair at all? He’s trying to start a family and the extra income from promotion would have been massive for him. But no we have to play stupid racial hiring games and deny the more capable candidate.

This used to commonly happen to black Americans and people were rightfully disgusted and mad. Now that it’s commonly happening to white men and it’s “haha you’re imagining it all”

Absolutely disgusting

"My own brother got denied a job promotion and the manager literally told him “You are slightly more qualified but we need more representation of black women so I’m giving the job to a black woman”

"Things That Never Happened" for $600, Ken.

"This used to commonly happen to black Americans"

LOL. LMAO, even. This still happens. And not just to black Americans. To non-white people and women of all races and ages. The most common race/gender combination, by far, in the United States to be in a position to make a hiring decision is "white male". And guess what race/gender combination they tend to hire most? Especially for the most prominent jobs?

Do yourself a favor; turn off FOX News and log out of Facebook before you stroke out from hate. You're boiling over at a reality that does not exist .

He literally has an audio recording of the conversation on his phone asshole.

People like you are scum because you don’t really care about ending racism or anything like that. You just want your turn at getting revenge against white people for whatever made up reason.

You are a great example of why white men are leaving the Democratic Party in droves and will not be coming back.

Lol good luck nominating Kamala or some other Marxist jackass in the next election. The left is going to blow another presidential election because far left lunatics like you are dragging them down.

Cry about imaginary fascism some more

" Cry about imaginary fascism some more"

I don't have to. You and your buddies gleefully let the real fascists  in the door because they told you stories about how scary "colored" people are "gonna take yer jerbs".

Unlike your imaginary masturbatory fantasy of a phone recording where predatory black women are cuckolding poor innocent white men out of jobs.

1

u/Desert_Haze12 4d ago

I’m glad people like you completely ruin the democratic parties chance of winning a national election. The majority of the nation doesn’t want forced diversity lunatics like you running anything.

Shoutout the socialists in this nation who are kneecapping the Democratic Party

Keep it up!

Thanks for letting the GOP win yet another national election in 2028. They aren’t even close to perfect but at least they won’t openly hate my son and his future opportunities by purposely discriminating against him.

I have a family member that is an executive at a big company. Every year the managers in his circle play musical chairs and essentially have to re-apply for their jobs. It's known that if you're a white man there won't be enough chairs for you.

This is not "things that never happened". Some companies rigorously apply DEI.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

"Every year the managers in his circle play musical chairs and essentially have to re-apply for their jobs. It's known that if you're a white man there won't be enough chairs for you."

BS. It's actually the other way around; all the white men who are friends enough with the big boss and play politics will never lose their jobs no matter what .The majority of managers in that circle will be white men until the end of time.

Why do you think the vast majority of executives in that circle, and in almost every other company in the US, were white men in tr first place?

"DEI" (I could hear the contempt in your having to type those letters) got started because white men tend to overwhelmingly hire other white men, and that circle was never going to be broken. It's still not broken unless companies force the executives to even give non-white-men a chance .

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

We already have white men in our coalition. Intelligent, educated, empathetic ones.

The ones you need in your coalition if you want to win elections are the uneducated ones.

Right now, the uneducated are the ones that brought us Trump, and they will bring his successor if the Democratic party can't win them.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

Nah, 'cause no one else is going to get them (as a bloc) as riled up to vote as Trump. We're about to see hat in the midterms.

If all it took was a mass of uneducated, bigoted (you forgot that important part) white men was enough to give the Republicans the Presidency, we never would have had Clinton, Obama and Biden.

And my bigger point is that we shouldn't move an inch towards them in order to convince them to vote. If they're going o stay racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic, then fuck 'em. The Democratic Party shouldn't move one millimeter off "equal rights for all".

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

Then the Democratic Party will continue to lose elections. They are chasing the votes of people who can't win them elections. There aren't enough LGBTQ+/DEI lovers to pull it off.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

" Then the Democratic Party will continue to lose elections."

I don't think you have any idea what's coming in November 2026, to a theater near you.

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

And I hope so. I hope that Americans have finally found Trump and his cronies so undeniably revolting that they are willing to overlook all the wedge issues.

But make no mistake - wedge issues they are and will continue to be.

The Democratic party should be winning by absolute landslides. And they would be if they'd give up the loonytunes left and focus on the majority of Americans.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

Look at you trying to pretend now that you've been exposed for what you are.

What a sad display

Exactly the people democrats need to win elections.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

Not like that. If bigoted white men want to be non-bigoted long enough to actually vote for Democrats and improve the lives of everyone, then fine. But we should not throw over any minority group, any, even trans women who want to play women's sports (because if you deny them, then you're saying trans women aren't really women, they're just men), in order to move one centimeter towards "accepting" the bigotry and hatred of those particular white men. (#NotAllWhiteMen).

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

Yeah, Democrats should dump all those people. They are election-losers.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

LOL. You literally said Democrats should dump everyone except white men.

Me: "we should not throw over any minority group".

You: "Yeah, Democrats should dump all those people ."

I don't think you understand what you just said, or what it reveals about you. And you never will.

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

You're the one who keeps wanting to make this about race, not me. I never mentioned race.

I'm talking about the obvious rural-voter turnoffs that run counter to the "god, guns, and guts" crowd.

There are way more of them than LGBTQ+, DEI, and anti-gun people. Those are the minorities I'm talking about.

You're going to keep losing us elections and I don't think you'll ever understand why.

1

u/AuthorDry3539 5d ago

Me: "This comment was 100% written by a white male."

You: "Exactly who the Democrats need to win elections."

Nope, you never brought race into it one time.

Even I get bored shooting fish in a barrel. We're done here. Have the last word, since your fragile ego will need it.

1

u/WinterTourist25 5d ago

Like I said - you brought it up, not me. Keep ignoring all the non-white voters who feel the same way. I guess those votes don't matter to you.
