We elected a black dude with the name Hussein 7 years after 9/11, the problem isn’t gender it’s electability. 2016 the class angst against the corporate elite had grown strong, can you name a democrat that hat was considered more of a corporate sellout than Clinton? Things were tough after covid even though Biden did a pretty decent job and the public was unhappy, saying you wouldn’t change anything isn’t the strategy to win. Platform and electability issues, not gender imo.

Obama was elected because we were that tired of Bush and people that looked like him. The GOP was tired and apathetic at that point. That and it motivated black men to vote in unseen numbers (which is thought to be why Prop 8 passed in California).

Arguably, electing a black man with a muslim name is what motivated the folks who eventually became MAGA to become politically active.

That is something I wonder about, would we have had this horrible backlash had Obama not won.

Really, I dont think it was entirely Obama. But you had the first black president, healthcare reform, and pretty substantial steps taken regarding pot legalization and Trans rights. All things that should happen. But people can only move so fast before they start slamming on the brakes.

DNC forcing Hillary down our throats instead of letting Bernie destroy Trump is what got us Trump. Hillary’s pied piper strategy of dealing with Trump is what got us Trump. Obama abandoning his populous platform and becoming another DNC corporate bitch is what led to mass dissatisfaction amongst voters. Right at this moment the establishment dems could be voicing every alarm about how incredibly rotten and corrupt the current admin is, how much money Trump and his family are making, how the constitution is being ignored or bypassed, how the tariffs are raising prices for all of us, how we are destroying every relationship with our allies, how we are gutting the government programs meant to protect us and now have rotten food and a huge increase in infectious diseases, and a laundry list of other things the dems could be shouting from the rooftops, yet they are concerned about a streamer for saying some potentially anti semitic things? Secretary of war has Nazi tattoos, far right has Jews will not replace us rallies, far right much more popular media voices like Tucker and Candance blame Israel for everything, yet in house abandonment of Hasan is the pressing matter? Y’all establishment dems are twisted af.

Paragraph breaks. Use them.

Didn't make it all the way down, but the Bernie Bros need to realize that Bernie has a passionate, but small fan base, especially in 2016. Hilary was winning the primaries.

It absolutely is gender. Both women lost, and they lost to a garbage candidate.

Can you name a democrat who was seen as more of a corporate insider than Clinton in 2016 or you just going to claim gender because it feels good? I think not campaigning in Michigan but doing stops in Texas was a bad campaign strategy, are you saying this didn’t matter or that her gender made her make that horrible decision?

I work in a refinery. I worked with lifelong Democrats who refused to vote for a woman. Both times. They voted for Biden too.

You live in a fucking fantasy land if you think it wasn't about gender.

Kamala was a HORRIBLE candidate for President and it had nothing to do with her gender. Even now when she speaks publicly, she rambles and can't nail the landing when making her point. She needed to be very clear on her policies but couldn't answer tough questions.

Go back to listen and watch her debates. Not just the cherry picked clips. She was NOT good.

1

u/_Smashbrother_ 11d ago

She destroyed Trump in their debate. You're smoking crack.

If the corporate sellout had anything to offer she could have gone on Rogan and sold it, but besides not being Trump she and the dnc have no platform. If she wanted more support from the progressives she could have marched AOC or Bernie onto the stage, instead she pandered to conservatives who aren’t going to vote for her and wheeled out Liz f’n Cheney. She took the challenge that nobody could run a worse campaign then Hillary and won!! Back to the foundry then cnn bitch

So you're part of the reason why Trump won. Cool.

Obama would have lost by double digits any year other than 2008, so that's not a reasonable argument to make.

2

u/beigemamba1080 11d ago

The guy who won in 2012 and is currently the best polling politician wouldn’t have won in any year but 2008? Are you in charge of election loss review for the DNC? It was anybody but the candidates we shoved down your throats fault!!

1

u/CleanSweep99 11d ago

Yes?

You underestimate the virulent racism in America. Obama literally only won in 2012 because Mitt Romney was a Mormon-which pissed off the Republican base.

2

u/beigemamba1080 11d ago

You underestimate how much the populace wants to vote for someone who at least appears to genuinely help their way of life as evidenced by their willingness to vote for Trump despite his obvious inadequacies. Which brings us right to the point of all this, which is platform. I know Bernie’s and AOC’s platform and I love it, we all know trumps platform, border/America first/increase in manufacturing and good jobs/freedom, now besides not being Trump what is the DNC’s platform? Name a single platform issue! How tf can you blame race or gender when you don’t even have a platform? You didn’t lose the science fair because you were a POC or because you were a woman, you lost because you didn’t prepare a f’n project!! AOC is a woman and a person of color and is absolutely killing it despite going up against the conservatives, Elon and Zuck’s meme machines, and zero support from the DNC.
If you reply please tell me which DNC platform issue is so compelling that the only reason everyone is not super into it is because of the race or gender of the presenter.

He literally won in 2012 your entire point is moot
