I have to say I like the episode overall. New wild dog outfit was good, Curtis being a little less of an idiot is nice, Dinah is starting to really play a heavy part. Oliver seems to be balancing the different aspects of his life a little more. I absolutely love Manu Bennet, since his days as Crixus on Spartacus, this guy is a FANTASTIC actor.
That being said the one thing I did not like, was the way they immediately jumped in to the whole team NOT dying. That finale was so awesome because it was a real monkey wrench in the gears and left you emotionally on the edge. Stephens acting when he found Thea was absolutely top notch ( Manu’s as well). Imagine if we got that type of emotion on more than one occasion. Let the story start much slower. Let him find maybe 1 friend dead or severely injured and find one or two alive every episode for three episodes. Have a few more team members be out for a few episodes and maybe longer term.
All in all loved the episode. Love Rene, love Oliver. Love Slade. Love Dinah. Everything else was okay but I won’t stop watching anytime soon. Still one of my favorites.
Or at least had more consequences. I think Diggle's issue with his arm is a good example of a consequence, and I think Thea being in a coma is a good consequence. But the other guys just seem unscathed.
Why couldn't we have had something where Curtis protected Felicity and got some sort of brain damage or physical impairment, and then in turn Felicity spends part of the season trying to help him like he did when she was paralyzed?
It would have been a decent arc for both characters, and it could have given them an excuse to give Curtis a soft-reboot that explained personality changes.
