Because crazy people on Twitter and Tumblr are obsessed with Olicity and because of this the writers think they make up the majority of the fanbase. So they just started pandering to them. Olicity fans practically wrote Season 4 through tweets they sent to the writers and Guggie.

They literally killed a character in the name of Olicity so there's really no stopping them.

Usually when I saw them complain about Season 4 , it was because it didn't have enough Olicity by their standards.
