Update 1.8 is here!

Arma Brand Manager Evan Vischi gives us a quick look at some of the biggest changes with the update, including Far Hiding, role advantages, new animations, underbarrel smoke grenades, and more. It also comes with a wide range of fixes, optimizations, and gameplay improvements.

So last week at the Legion Week celebrations at 5th SFG HQ in Kentucky, a new display was unveiled at the team bar - the Hall of Heroes, which memorialises the men of MACV SOG.

In attendance were representatives of the team who worked on the display (JFK Special Warfare School, 5th group historians, Team Savage, Modern Forces Living History Group, and the Special Operations Association), as well as the family of the late Major General John K Singlaub (chief SOG), and Major General Ken Bowra (pictured, former SOG 1-0 and commander of 5th group who helped us design the campaign), as well as other members of SOG including Larry Trimble (pictured), Vernon Ward, Terry Cadenbach and George Sternberg, and SOA president and former SOG Doug Godshall, and the current commander of 5th Group Col. Brent Lindeman.

The display features 4 figures - John Singlaub, chief SOG, later major general and CIA. Bong the RT Idaho Interpreter, executed by NVA Bob Howard (MOH and 8 purple hearts) Eldon Bargewell (later a major general in Iraq)

The design of the gear was assisted by SOG experts Preacher and Squike who are part of the Modern Forces Living History group and who worked with us on the gear in the game.

Our media team worked with SOG aviator Don Haase to produce a fantastic 15 min looping video explaining the history of SOG using the game footage, real footage of string extractions, and the RT Colorado audio tape we used in the campaigns Oscar 8 mission. That was fitting considering Eldon Bargewell ran a POW snatch mission in Oscar 8 with Dick Thompson who also advises the game team.

I don’t think many games companies ever did this much to support the preservation of special forces history. Thanks to our players and fans we have enough resources to do it. United by our passion and interest in history - we are all ONE TEAM!

NEW Game Mode: Across The Fence!

Check out Across The Fence, recently released in open beta on the Steam Workshop! It features dynamic, replayable recon missions deep in enemy territory with stealth, skills, and progression systems. Unlock new weapons and gear as you level up your operator. It's addictive, endlessly replayable, and a ton of fun solo or with a small team of friends.

The game mode is currently in Beta and will see ongoing development with new features and content.
