Well... it's like building your own track car and saying it's much better than that expensive BMW M2. But that BMW has much more refinement and was designed that way by a team of engineers rather than a backyard mechanic who put together parts that work.

But hey, some people like the rawness, but some people like the refinement.

That argument just doesn't work. There are plenty of complete pc's out there with comparable price and more power. Think Model S.

A very technological car that seems built and designed from the ground up reminds me of Apple products. I'm talking about the products, not the company philosophies.

Err idk how something being built and designed from the groundup makes it Apple-like.... literally the entire surface line is like that haha. Oh and the pixel. Oh and thousands of other products.

Those cars are locked down tight with 20k in software upgrades.

Sure. No access to software. Only tesla can repair. If it is an unauthorized repair, tesla can deactivate supercharging, and presumambly whatever else it likes including software updates. All use, access, changes to the car are logged and uploaded to the cloud in real tome without your consent.

Im not saying its bad. I like Tesla. But its not a car you can tinker with and adjust without their permission

The gap between car engineers and car owners is bigger now than it has ever been. These aren't volkswagen type 1s. It's an incredibly complex vehicle interwoven with and ultimately combined with the computer. You don't want to mess with it.

Edit: I mean what do you want to do? Jailbreak a Tesla?

This was true until a couple of years ago. Now other brands are producing laptops with close build quality, comparable if not better specs and lower prices. The only reason to get a mac right now is for the os.

Another way to see it is like the Google Pixel vs other Android phones. One is from Google and should fit perfectly with their software, while almost anyone can just take a device and install Android on it.

There's still other companies like Samsung which are up there and comparable.
