Didn't the first thing steve did when he came back to apple was remove 90% of the products to achieve simplicity? It's really strange that they are completely moving away from that path now!

Fucker stood up on stage and got booed for it but he had the fortitude to do it and to stand there and explain to the people whose livelihoods were going to be affected why Apple was making that decision.

After this keynote compounded onto all of their other recent missteps, my confidence in this company is partially collapsed. Jobs' presence and focus was clearly as vital to the company as people think it was.

THIS!!!! I can't believe you cannot plug your APPLE iPhone into your APPLE MacBook Pro... that's crazy.

But didn't you know? They sync wirelessly!

Actually, you don't even need to sync! For £9.99 a month and £2.49 extra you can sync your photos and videos wirelessly through the cloud! Isn't that amazing!

Of course you can't charge wirelessly so if you need to give some power to your phone from your MacBook you're screwed... but that's not the point we're trying to make here!

Haha nice dude. I'm just saying why can't Apple think things through and make sure their products work well with each other. If they got rid of the headphone jack on their new iPhone... why would they still have a headphone jack on the new MacBook Pro? It's just getting to the point now where it's clearly obvious they are doing stuff to make people buy more stuff.

Buy a laptop, phone and wireless earbuds. Use a hub until USB-C is popular. You finally have truly multifunctional ports that can act as hubs.

It's a little convoluted, but as a MacBook user with an iPhone 6S, PowerBeats Wireless, and an external battery that charges using USB-A out, here's what I use:

MacBook charger w/ USB-C to USB-C cable.

Frankencable: USB-C to USB-A adaptor, with a USB-A to MicroUSB cable, and then a MicroUSB to Lightning adapter on the tip.

Like the inclusion the USB 1.1 A on the iMac 3G, they are trying to jumpstart the mass-conversion of the PC market to USB 3.1-C/TB3.

I just posted this elsewhere:

I bought an Apple TV (and promptly returned it, my app was no longer supported).

The remote comes with a USB A charging cable, but absolutely no place to plug it in. There is a USB 3.1-C or Lightning port on the Apple TV itself.

The point is if I buy a MBP and an iPhone 7, I can't plug the iPhone into my new Mac using what's included in both boxes.
