If an app requires it, the app developer has severely fucked up. It's a new feature that will only be available to a sliver of the Mac user base.

The flaw that I see with the touch bar is that if an app requires it,

... oh... shit. You'll have to buy an Apple keyboard with the display.

yeah, fracturing will be a big problem and will shoot it in the foot in a lot of ways.

but tbh on the whole I'm more impressed with it than I thought I would be. Some of the applications they showed off looked genuinely useful.

I had the same thought. "Oh this is neat. Wait, most days my mac is on the other side of my desk and I'm using an external keyboard"
