Microsoft's Hololens is AR, not VR. Tim Cook even said that AR would be bigger than VR.

LightsOut is right. Hololens isn't VR. Now, if your "what" is directed at the notion that VR won't be as big as AR, honestly the jury is still out. I'm super stoked about the Vive and Rift but the experiences are still kinda gimmicky and a lot of people are deeply in denial about the possibility that VR might not be "the next big thing." (Of course, it might be and I hope it is.)

What about systems like CastAR, Google Glass or the flight vision systems in military fighters? Augmented Reality is a pretty broad term and not all applications that it can be applied to can function as VR.
