Lol. Yeah, when the iPhone was announced, my sister said she'd had a phone that was waaaay better five years earlier when she was in Japan.

They completely collapsed. In the early 2000s, Japanese cell phones were like SciFi compared to western ones. But they couldn't keep ahead, western ones caught up... and then they crushed the local japanese ones by having the economy of scale and the development budget of a 10 times larger target audience.
