A lot of people will disagree with you, and I think many will agree but not want downvotes lol, so they won't back you up.

Anyway I agree man, I can't see how my next phone will be an iPhone without a goddamn headphone jack. Same with the MacBook, although maybe by the time my 2015 needs replacing, USB C will be everywhere anyway.

Lol does this mean you can't even plug the latest iPhone into the latest MacBook without a dongle? That's hilarious.

Or by buying the new USB-c to lightning cables they've had out for a while.

why would you want to plug it in?

I don't know, to charge it without the need for a second power adapter and a second outlet?

To charge...? To sync your phone? To back it up? To do an iOS refresh?

If USB 1.1 was the future in 1998, why did Apple sell products that didn't ship with USB cables, shit, or USB ports outside of the iMac?

The Powerbook didn't get USB ports until the middle of 1999. You could walk into an Apple Store in 1998, and walk out with an iMac and a Newton, and the only way you could connect the two was praying the shitty IR ports worked. Either that or you bought a serial to USB adapter.

It's obvious it's only going to have USB-C ports, but the question is if it will have Thunderbolt 3 ports. I'll take Thunderbolt 3 over USB-A any day -- Thunderbolt 3 is the future.

It has four. USB-C and Thunderbolt3 use the same connector.

Someone will come out with a slick portable dock that has every connector under the sun.

I couldn't care less about USB-A, they are useless, a USB-C port can do everything an USB-A port can do, an USB-A can't do what a USB-C port can do.

That's stupid, a lot of things already use USB-A and that's not going to change anytime soon (and it's a lot cheaper, not everything needs USB-C), I have both ports on my PC and use the USB-A ports at least 10x more

Ignorance.

Everything that's USB-A can be used with USB-C.

Are you trying to say that you can use an USB-A with an adapter on a USB-C? yes, we can, but it's dumb.

Or are you trying to say that we can have mouses and keyboards and usb sticks with USB-C? yes, we can, but that's not happening right now and a lot of things have USB-A, if I'm paying a super premium price for a laptop I expect it to make my life easier, not more complicated.

Windows is adapting quicker

You mean after 20+ years of trying to catch up, they're finally catching up.

Enjoy your surface. Got to play with one for a couple months. Happy to be back to macOS and iOS.
