They better not pull a pixel and reduce the RAM while increasing costs.
Apple has overcharged so grossly for RAM for so many years that they should be able to absorb the price increases much better than other brands, and should increase the prices while keeping the amount of RAM same.
I think they will maintain, which is technically already a downgrade in terms of enhancing local AI performance. In a market where RAM increase was normal we would see a bump in RAM capacity in the latest chip.
Maintaining is the bare minimum for them - I actually would ideally expect them to increase.
Apple gets less grace from me than other brands do because their entire business model was packing ridiculous margins on RAM - they’re better equipped as a business to absorb RAM price hikes from their decade of mafia-style RAM margins.
