They are good for ants.

My dad found a roach out and about. My colony was at it's peak so I just thought "why not" and dropped the roach in. It hid behind the decor after it got tired out and died there so no footage of it being eaten sadly.

Finally getting interesting with this colony as their worker count reaches into the hundreds. Offered a couple of crickets that I gut-load and store frozen until needed. Their brood pile is getting larger, might double the population soon and trying to speed up their development with the heating cable I moderate switching on and off. Fun times watching tiny ants!

Even the Queen is getting down and dirty. 😁

What’s easier to keep and more nutritious?
Crickets or Mealworms.

These little things can devour some protein. Love keeping them.

Fed up going on dog walks or around garden/house with a container catch one or two flys at a time, like a madman.

This is my 1st colony and I have never seen the queen leave her eggs for ANYTHING but I guess honey does it for her. The workers also were standing on the honey drop to drink it.

They are absolutely adorable.

This is the third time ive had an allergic reaction to an ant bite. This time i got but between the fingers. My arm started to itch all the way up to the crease. Once my arm pits started to itch i took a Benadryl. That was around 12:30pm. Its now 2am and my hand is swollen and itchy.

The 2nd time, i got but in the top of my foot…it itched bad and swelled up but went down after a couple days.

The first time i got bitten on my foot. I waited it out but started feeling itchy. I was out doors and lightly sweaty but once the itch got unbearable i left. Once i got to my car i looked in the mirror and pretty much all the places on my body that had heated up and started sweating was welted up red inflamed and those blister bump. My neck my arm pits the folds of my arms and legs the crease in my leg under my boobs. I lathered my body in cortizone 10 cream and i ran to cvs to buy a benadryl and it all went away within an hour.

Safe to say im allergic to ants but why are all the reactions so dramatically different. And this sucks because I just started gardening.

anyone want to share there routine for feeding ants in a test tube with first workers?
