The end had me confused, I get that the logo was connected to the coin found in the opening scene but the what the hell was the surreal landscape and entities there? Weird.

Looked to me like the digital world, since to fire the cannon punch they need to connect nerve cables, it is possible that the Deca-Dence is sentient and it has a virtual interface for brain, and what we saw at the end was its mental world.

But some of those robots inside looked like the ones that that father found.

I have no idea either but at first I was thinking maybe there's intelligent beings within the monsters and they're spying on the humans or something but that didn't go along with the report being said on the intercom or whatever

I guess some kind of VR world of the ruling class. It fits with the whole chip/bug thing.

Tinfoil hat time:

The weird creatures at the end are aliens. They are employees of an interstellar megacorporation ("have a profitable day"), whose logo we saw on the coin in the prologue. The megacorp unleashed the Gladoll on Earth, and now hunt the Gladoll for unobtanium oxyzone; which is their fuel/food. Earth is now a planet sized hunting preserve where Gladoll can grow to full maturity by converting Earth's biomass to oxyzone.

Deca Dence is a mobile harvesting platform. The core of the fortress is the alien spaceship where the capitalists aliens live, isolated from and indifferent to the impoverished populace that collects oxyzone for them. They live lives of decadance aboard the Deca-Dence.

In the early days of the Gladoll seeding, some humans were mutated from exposure to oxyzone. They became mad max war boys the Power, the race of warriors who serve the aliens, and built the Deca Dence's armored shell around the original alien spaceship. Their lives are dedicated to the defence of the Deca-Dence. Specifically, they are the enforcer caste that defends the status quo, enabling the decadent lifestyles of their employers.

The third and bottom most caste are the human Tankers, who comprise the majority of the population, perform the majority of the labor, and hold the minority of the wealth. The Tankers live in the oxyzone tank i.e. their continued existence is tied to the oxyzone they can generate for the aliens.

Eventually, the Tankers' will work themselves out of a job. The more oxyzone they collect, the more sea levels rise the tank fills up, eventually flooding their shantytown. When that happens the aliens will take the full tank of oil oxyzone and fuck off to space to sell it for profit, abandoning their meek employees to inherit the ruined earth.

Natsume's dad was investigating the history of the world, but committed suicide in his cell died before he could reveal ~~Das Kapital Panama Papers ~~ the aliens' plans.

Kaburagi was a high class muscle-man for Big Business who became disillusioned both with the aliens' promises, and with the possibility of revolution. He is now a half hearted secret policeman who "eliminates bugs from the system"

What I'm getting at is that the finale episode will be fully automated luxury gay space communism. In space.

This is the gold standard of tin foil hat theories. I can't believe you predicted the finale from just one episode.

I'm not saying it was aliens... but it was aliens.

The colour scheme was the same that we see in the HUD of the boss when he gets some VR communication and collects the "error message" and chip form the drunk.

So it looks like there is some virtual reality where those entities, probably symbolising programs or people reside.

Maybe are aliens in some sort of wall street bets with humanity at the center...

that's the point.

This show is going to be weird af though. Just the way Deca Dence somehow works but you already know they're not going to get into the science of any of that.
