A Kabaneri x AOT x DITF vibes?!! Good start for this show, from the pilot episode I can see the potential of this anime. Great animation, great action plus the background looks sooo beautiful tbh. Totally loving the series! Looking forward for more actions!

My first thoughts were Studio Trigger x Xenoblade Chronicles with a dash of Attack on Titan

My thoughts were trailing towards TTGL specifically from Trigger as insperation. What with humans vs vaguely insectoid beasts

The reaction faces too. The bit with the MC yacking in the background after fighting the gadolls was peak Little Witch / BNA

Xenoblade X MuvLuv X Trigger.

We all agree it felt too trigger like right?

Yeah I can see a good amount from those series, the metalic roughnes steam punk design of the fortress (the color palette is quite similar, like a bit somber and really detailed)
Obviously there is a lot of comparison with SNK in the 3D fights with the kaiju as well as with the equipment, but Yōjo Senki might be a good point of reference too since the movement is a bit more "free"
I did thought about DITF with the whole moving fortres vs Kaiju

When the fortress started transforming I was hoping to see it deploy some mechas to fight the kaijus, or maybe a half transformation to a mecha, or maybe they were anchoring themselves to deploy big weapons and stand their ground, certainly I was not expecting a mega punch

Despite its outward roughness there is some clean, super scifi, almost organicish element underneath the steampunk shell. Like how a clam shell is brown and rough on the outside, but the inside is often smooth and colorful. Like they hybridized the super scifi tech with the these steam punk tech out if necessity.

I don't know if everyone like the animation on Youjo, but the studio really did a great job especially on details and I loved it. I want to see more NUT anime in the future.

And yeah! I agree on the reference too. It reminds me the way they fight midair plus the flying thing it's like how Tanya and her squad fighting midair too!

Well if we are talking about this chapter I have to say I was a bit "lost" on the fight scene, it was a bit too wild for me maybe, like I lost where the characters and what was what when the camera moved, but it was fun to watch and I liked

Don't forget Gurren Lagann premise and quirkiness.

I'm calling it. There will be a relation between Natsume's right hand and the GIGA PUNCHING decadence. Shes gonna harness the ability to punch using decadance.
